Jakarta’s Latest PPKM Regulations

The pandemic has been going on for two years and it still won't go away until 2022 arrives. Of course we have been through a lot, from strict restrictions until now we are used to living with the "new normal". In the current situation, community activities are gradually returning to normal, but with restrictions and health protocols that must be adhered to.

The latest policy implemented in Jakarta now is PPKM (Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities) level 2 which is valid until April 18, 2022 based on the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 308 of 2022.

Activities at Work/Office

PPKM policy level 2 regulates activities in non-essential offices to implement 50% WFO (Work from Office). While essential offices of the government sector must follow the technical provisions of the Ministry of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia.

For the essential sector, the banking sector can operate 75% WFO in locations related to public services, and 50% for office administration services. Then, for the capital market, information and communication technology, as well as non-quarantine handling hotels, can operate with 75% maximum limit.

For export-oriented and supporting industries, 75% WFO can be applied with shift arrangements and only in production facilities/factories. Meanwhile, 50% of WFO can be applied to office administration services.

Furthermore, critical sectors such as security and health can operate 100% without exception. Meanwhile, other industries in the same sector such as construction for public and private infrastructure can operate 100% in production/construction/service facilities to the public and a maximum capacity of 50% for office administration services.

All activities above must be in accordance with the implementation of stricter health protocols and that every employee has been vaccinated and is required to check-in using the Safe Entrance feature in the JAKI application which has been integrated with PeduliLindungi.

Schools

School activities can now be carried out with face-to-face learning (PTM) or distance learning based on a joint decision of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Minister of Religion, Minister of Health, and Minister of Home Affairs No. 05/KB/2021, No. 1347 of 2021, No. HK.01.08/MENKES/6678/2021, No. 443-5847 in 2021.

Supermarkets and Markets that Sell Daily Necessities

Traditional markets, supermarkets and grocery stores selling daily necessities are allowed to open with 75% of normal capacity and stricter health protocols. Traditional markets can operate according to operating hours. As for supermarkets, they can operate until 21.00 and must apply the usage of the PeduliLindungi application or Safe Entrance in JAKI.

Food Stall, Restaurant, Street Vendor, and Café

Food stalls/warteg, street vendors, hawker stalls, and the like are allowed to serve dine-in or eat in place up to 21.00 WIB, with a maximum visitor capacity of 50% and maximum meal time of 60 minutes. Then, for restaurants/restaurants and cafes that open from the evening, can serve dine-in from 18.00 to 00.00, with a capacity of 50%. Meanwhile, for restaurants, restaurants, and cafes located in buildings or open areas, to shopping centers, dine-in services can be carried out to 21.00 at max, with a capacity of 50%, and check-in using PeduliLindung or JAKI.

Cultural Arts, Sports Facilities, Parks, and Tourist Attractions

Now public areas and public facilities such as parks and sports facilities are allowed to open with stricter health protocols, a maximum capacity of 50%, and are required to use the PeduliLindungi application or Safe Entrance at JAKI. Visitors under 12 years old must be accompanied by at least one parent.

Shopping Center and Cinema

Shopping centers/malls/trade centers can operate at 50% until 21.00 WIB, visitors are required to check-in with the PeduliLindung or JAKI application. Visitors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by at least one parent. Children's playgrounds and entertainment venues are opened on condition that parents must record their addresses and phone numbers for tracing needs.

As for cinemas, the maximum capacity is 70% and screening is required with the PeduliLindung or JAKI application. Only visitors with a green or yellow vaccination status may enter. Visitors less than 12 years old must be accompanied by a parent. Visitors are allowed to dine-in at a restaurant/cafe in the cinema area with a maximum capacity of 50% and with meal times not more than 60 minutes.

Place of Worship and Wedding Reception

Places of worship are allowed to open with a maximum capacity of 75% and in accordance with technical arrangements from the Ministry of Religion. Meanwhile, wedding reception venues are allowed to operate with a maximum capacity of 50% and stricter health protocols. In addition, at the reception it is forbidden to eat on the spot.

Transportation

During the PPKM level 2, a maximum capacity of 100% currently applies for public transportation, mass transportation, taxis (conventional and online), and motorcycle taxis (online/base). In addition, the odd-even number plate rule also applies according to the rules of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency.

Stay Alert, Protect Each Other

Although cases still significantly lower since the peak of the second wave last year, the trend of recent cases shows an increase. So, you must remain vigilant. Omicron, the latest Covid-19 variant, has been confirmed to spread in Indonesia. Don't let you and your loved ones be exposed, so make sure you comply with the applicable restrictions and strictly implement health protocols. Also make sure you have been vaccinated! If you have not been vaccinated, you can register easily via the JAKIapplication. Stay alert and don't let this Covid-19 pandemic last long because you ignore existing health protocols.
