New Student Acceptance 2021 in DKI Jakarta

The Jakarta Department of Education has opened the registration for New Student Acceptance (PPDB) in the academic year 2021/2022. This process will start on 7 June 2021 and will end on 2 July 2021. Given the transitional PSBB period that is currently in force in the capital, the Government of Jakarta has also provided an online service for people who want to register from home. Aside from making it easy, this method is also in line with the government's instruction to minimize physical contact and prevent the potential transmission of the coronavirus. The terms and conditions of the registration have been regulated through Governor Regulation No. 32 of 2021concerning Technical Guidelines for Admission of New Students for the 2021/2022 School Year.

Requirements for PPDB

Before registering, prospective new students who meets criterias below are required to go through the online pre-registration process through sidanira.jakarta.go.id

  1. Students who will register for Junior High School, Senior High School and / or Vocational School in Jakarta; and
  2. Students domiciled in Jakarta no later than June 1, 2020, under the condition:
  • studied at school outside Jakarta;
  • graduated in 2019 or 2020 and not registered in Satuan Pendidikan;
  • studied at Satuan Pendidikan Asing

Before accessing the site, it is a good idea to prepare the scan of document or files as this following requirements:

Junior High School Level

  1. A scan or photo of Family Card
  2. A scan or photo of report cards from first semester of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade
  3. Certificate of School Accreditation
  4. Letter of Statement on Student’s Ranking
  5. Certificate of Academic Achievement
  6. Certificate of Non-Academic Achievement
  7. Decree of School Principal on Extracurricular Management
  8. Letter of absolute responsibility regarding document validity

Senior High School/Vocational School Level

  1. A scan or photo of Family Card
  2. A scan or photo of report cards from first semester of 7th, 8th, and 9th grade
  3. Certificate of School Accreditation
  4. Letter of Statement on Student’s Ranking
  5. Certificate of Academic Achievement
  6. Certificate of Non-Academic Achievement
  7. Decree of School Principal on Extracurricular Management
  8. School Principal Decree on Extracurricular Management
  9. Letter of absolute responsibility regarding document validity

While those who domiciled and previously studied in Jakarta can skip the preregistration phase and continue directly to the token activation phase.

PPDB Selection Path

During this registration period, there are different path for elementary, junior high, high school, and vocational schools, namely:

  • Achievement path is intended for prospective students who have academic and non-academic achievements. 
  • Affirmation pathway is intended for prospective students from poor families to be given access to government subsidised education.
  • Zoning path is the registration path for prospective students who live in a designated zoning area by paying attention to the distribution of schools, data on the distribution of domiciles, and the capacity of schools that are adjusted to the availability of the number of school-age children at each level in the area.
  • Parent duties transfer or teacher-parent transfer is a path intended for prospective students from families whose parents had relocation assignments and for children of teachers who want to go to school where their parents work. 

How to Register at PPDB Online

If you don't have an account on PPDB, you can submit for a new account by pressing the 'Ajuan Akun' button. There you will find forms related to participant information that must be filled out correctly and completely. The next step is uploading files. Make sure all documents that you uploaded are in accordance with the specified requirements. You will then get a chance to do a double-check. If you believe all the information provided is correct, click he statement approval and press the continue button. After obtaining the participant number along with the verification code/token, you can start the next step, which is token activation.

To activate the token, go back to the PPDB Jakarta online website at ppdb.jakarta.go.id. Activate PIN/token by pressing the activation button by entering the participant number (from sidanira system). Then, replace the PIN/token that you received previously with a password of choice.

After the activation of the token has been completed, prospective students can continue to the next stage, which is registered to your destination school in the following manner:

  • access the PPDB website online at ppdb.jakarta.go.id;
  • log in by entering the participant number and password;
  • choose the destination school; and
  • print the proof of registration.

For participants who are declared accepted at the chosen school, the prospective new student must proceed to the self-report stage in the following manner:

  • access the PPDB website online at ppdb.jakarta.go.id;
  • log in by entering the participant number and password;
  • do self-report by pressing the 'Lapor Diri' button; and
  • print the proof of self-report.

Important Information on the PPDB Website

The PPDB site also has a variety of important information that you need before registering. By selecting the school level (elementary/junior high/high school), you will find a number of details such as the schedule for each acceptance path. 

If you have questions, look for ‘Apa yang ingin Anda Ketahui?’ section or 'What do you want to know?' section to find out additional information, from the rules and conditions of registration to the location and capacity of your destination school. As for prospective students who have difficulty accessing the internet, Jakarta Department of Education has also set up PPDB kiosks in some schools, of course by continuing to comply with the established health protocol.
