For those of you who have been waiting to take a walk to Monas, there is good news for you guys! Because after waiting for two years to close, you can already explore the icon of the city of Jakarta on this one. The Monas area has reopened since June 16, 2022. However, there are some new rules for entering the Monas area that you must know. What are the rules? Read the following article first, yes

National Monuments, Important Icons in Jakarta

The Monas Monument was first opened to the public starting in 1975. The monument began to be built in 1961, designed by Soedarsono and Frederich Silaban. This icon of the city of Jakarta holds the meaning of remembering the struggle that never goes out, whose shape of the monument represents the highest strength and the part of the fire above the monument symbolizes the spirit of the Indonesian nation that never fades. 

The Monas area has undergone several revitalizations by the governor of DKI Jakarta from time to time. This place during the time of Governor Ali Sadikin was once the arena of the Jakarta Fair, before being moved to Kemayoran. Then, during the time of Governor Sutiyoso, this area was added with fences, built parks, and added several deer to become green areas in Jakarta. After that, during the time of Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, built several stalls for traders around Monas, but during the Djarot Syaiful Hidayat period, the Monas area was sterilized. Then, during the time of Governor Anies Baswedan, this area was added with an interesting spot, namely a pond located in the South Plaza of Monas. The revitalization of Monas is to add value to its use as an open space for the community.
 

Note This When Visiting Monas

If you want to visit Monas, there are some new rules that you need to know during the opening that are still in the trial stage. Starting from the visiting hour, this area is every Tuesday to Sunday, open from 06.00 to 16.00 WIB. However, visitors can only enter the open area outside the Monas monument. Meanwhile, the service to go up to the National Monument, however it is necessary to fill out the form: bit.ly/kunjungantugumonas.

For those who want to come, you can enter this area through the Lenggang Monas door which is near the Monas IRTI parking lot. Later, before entering this area, the officers will check their body temperature and scan the PeduliLindungi QR. In addition, visitors are also required to have been vaccinated against boosters and are required to always comply with health protocols such as wearing masks, staying away from crowds, and maintaining distance. If you do not meet the vaccination requirements, there is a vaccination outlet that has been provided near the entrance.

How to Get to the National Monument

To visit Monas, you can use public transportation. You can use the MRT, then get off at the HI Roundabout Station, then continue with Transjakarta with the Kota-Blok M or Ragunan-Monas route and get off at the Monas Stop. Or, you can use Transjakarta with this route and get off at the Monas Stop. You can also use tour buses, namely BW2 and BW4 buses, then get off at Monas. There is also another alternative, namely using the KRL route to Jakarta Kota, then get off at Gondangdia Station or Juanda Station. If you are from Gondangdia Station, you can use Transjakarta with the Gondangdia-Balaikota Station route and get off at the City Hall, after that you can cross from the City Hall to go to the Monas area.

Well, it is noted that this new rule before you travel to this monument of pride of Jakarta residents.
