Loss of large amounts of body fluids can be caused by hot weather, so stay hydrated by drinking lots of water. You don’t need to wait until you are thirsty to drink water. Drink more water than usual to maintain the balance of fluids in your body. In addition, reduce caffeinated and alcoholic drinks that can trigger dehydration.

Eat Fruits

In hot conditions, limit hot foods because they can make your body hotter. Instead, you can eat fruits that contain a lot of water content, such as watermelon. Besides being able to make you more hydrated, the vitamins in fruits can also boost your immunity.

Wear Appropriate Clothes

So that you don’t get hot easily, wear loose, sweat-absorbing, and light-colored clothes. That way, your body will feel cooler and more comfortable for activities.

Avoid Direct Sun Exposure

Stay indoors and reduce outdoor activities. However, if you have to do outdoor activities, avoid direct sunlight by looking for shaded places or using protection such as hats and umbrellas.

Use Sunscreen

If you have to go out, make sure you use sunscreen first so that your skin is protected from the hot sun which can cause irritation. Reapply sunscreen according to the directions for use so that your skin remains protected and you avoid dehydration.

Pay Attention to Emergency Conditions

If you experience or find other people who are in an emergency condition due to hot weather, you can contact the nearest health facility or if you are in Jakarta, use the Ambulans feature in the JAKI application to call the Emergency Ambulance Service by Jakarta’s Health Agency so that the health workers on duty can help you immediately.
