This year’s Eid celebration has turned into memories. How about you, Smartcitizens? Was it exciting? Now, it’s time to get back to our daily routines. However, until now, some people may choose to extend their vacation. So, if you’re one of them, always remember to be careful when returning home! Below are tips for facing the return flow after mudik (going back to your hometown). Let’s discuss them together!

How to Deal with the Return Flow

The operational implementation of the Lebaran return flow was prepared before the holiday ended. It was revealed that the travel time for mudik in 2024 is 6 hours and 54 minutes. Menhub (Menteri Perhubungan Republik Indonesia/The Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia) also explained that drivers must be in good health.

“We urge those who will return to their homes to find vehicles that are fit and comfortable drivers. Also, make sure that the number of passengers in the car is not too many,” the Minister of Transportation explained. Do you want to arrive home safely? Remember to note the tips from Badan Pengelola Transportasi Jabodetabek/Greater Jakarta Transport Authority (BPTJ).

  1. Be careful on the trip.

When driving, always remember to obey traffic signs. This will give you an orderly journey and maintain comfort along with other drivers.

  1. Prepare yourself and your vehicle properly.

Make sure you have had enough rest before departure. By doing this, your physical condition will remain strong. Also, check your vehicle to ensure that the brakes, lights, tires, and engine oil are in good condition.

  1. Tired? Please take a rest.

Feeling tired or sleepy? Well, don’t force yourself to keep driving. Find a safe resting place. You can choose a rest area to stop for a while. There, you can also buy your favorite dishes or souvenirs!

  1. Maintain speed and a safe distance from other vehicles.

Don’t speed and always obey speed limits. Also, make sure you maintain a safe distance from other vehicles ahead. This is to ensure that all vehicles do not collide with each other.

  1. Pay attention to the weather. If there is thick fog, use high beams.

It’s been raining lately. When on the road, if there is thick fog, remember to turn on your high beams. This will help other drivers see your vehicle.
