Definition of Smart People

Smart people refers to the condition of a smart city characterised by quality social interactions amongst citizens, involving them in city-building efforts. This interaction is done through the availability of public services from the government or private parties. It will support the health, education, and career of the citizens. This involvement can be seen in activities such as:

• determining services (government/private);
• joint classes;
• community surveys;
• public dashboards; and
• job vacancy portals.

The smart people pillar has led Jakarta to implement various programs for human resource development. Jakarta Smart City, as a digital transformation accelerator, has introduced programs related to skill development, digital literacy, and enhancing competitiveness in the field of technology and information. These are programs that Jakarta residents, including you, can participate in!

JAKI: Jakarta's Super-App

Jakarta owns a super app called JAKI, which encompasses various needs of Jakarta residents in one platform. One of its features is Citizen Report. If you see any urban issues, feel free to use this feature. Your participation can contribute to making Jakarta a better city!

JAKI contains digital service features provided by the Jakarta Provincial Government. Your needs can be fulfilled digitally without the need to physically visit locations. Need access to books at the library? Want to make a reservation? You can use the Jakarta Library feature! Explore the features that suit you best. JAKI is designed for all segments of Jakarta's population, including:

• Students;
• Office Worker;
• Job Seeker;
• Entrepreneur; and
• Homemaker.

JSCLab Sharing: Classes with Experts

Jakarta Smart City has JSCLab Sharing as classes to connect citizens with experts. In this program, participants gain knowledge to enhance their skills in various fields. The classes focus on:

• technology;
• smart city concepts;
• public policy; and
• digital literacy.

Musrenbang (Musyawarah Rencana Pembangunan)

Jakarta has a system called Musrenbang  (Musyawarah Rencana Pembangunan) where stakeholders discuss proposed development plans. This involves areas ranging from villages (desa/kelurahan) to district-level priorities.

JSC Goes to School

According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek/Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi) in 2021, the rate of university graduates working in fields related to their studies is relatively low. JSC Goes to School  aims to address this issue.

This program, in collaboration with various technology companies, conducts awareness sessions for students in schools. Hopefully, all participants will become digital talents in the future. Five companies participating in this program were Zenius, Grab, JakLingko, XL Axiata, and Cakap.

The younger generation plays a crucial role in Jakarta's future. Aspiring to be a data scientist? Jakarta Smart City has a special program for you! Through the Data Science Traineeprogram, you can gain experience in solving urban issues.
