JSC Goes to School Visit to SMAN 6 South Jakarta with Grab Indonesia

Jakarta Smart City (JSC) has recently collaborated with another tech company for the JSC Goes to School program! For those who are not yet familiar with it, JSC Goes To School is a collaboration program between Jakarta Smart City and technology companies aimed at preparing high school, vocational, and MA (Madrasah Aliyah) students to face digital challenges by educating them about the digital industry and its players. The objective of this program is in line with JSC's goal of increasing the digital literacy of Jakarta residents and accelerating digital transformation.

In this episode of JSC Goes to School, the Jakarta Smart City engaged with Grab Indonesia as a collaborative partner to visit SMA Negeri 6 South Jakarta. Brought up the topic of "Digital Ecosystem Development in the Field of Transportation", JSC Goes to School Feat Grab was held on Tuesday, 28 February 2023, 10 a.m to 12 p.m, at SMA Negeri 6 Jakarta. Even though it was held offline, participants can also join online to maximize audience participation. 

JSC Goes to School: Preparing Future Talents to Face Digital Challenges

JSC Goes to School Feat Grab Indonesia event was held at the SMA Negeri 6 South Jakarta’s prayer room. The room was filled by grade 12 students. Meanwhile, the grade 10 and 11 students took online participation from their classes. The total number of participants was approximately 500 people. The event began with an opening by the teacher of SMA Negeri 6 Jakarta. He urged the students to listen and actively participate in this activity because the presentation could give a fresh insight regarding digital challenges that will be faced by the younger generation, especially when looking for a job.

The event then continued with a presentation from Paulus Radyan Indraputra (Ryan), City Manager of Business DKI Jakarta, Grab Indonesia. Ryan opened his presentation by introducing the Grab Indonesia ecosystem and services as well as the three Grab for Good's goals, which are collaborating with the government to implement a long-term digital economy for entrepreneurs, providing platforms and technology for small businesses, MSMEs, and traditional traders, as well as creating innovative solutions by more secure safety and cleanliness in the new normal era.

Entering the core of the presentation, Ryan discussed jobs in the technology industry. In this section, students were given an understanding of the skills and competencies they need to be able to work in the technology industry, for both science and social studies majors. In addition, students were also taught about some ways to develop the skills and competencies in preparing themselves to work in the technology industry and face future digital challenges. With such relatable topics, the students were enthusiastic and eager to ask questions after the presentation finished. Afterward, the event continued with a quiz session. Students who can answer quiz questions correctly or ask the best questions during the question-and-answer session will receive vouchers and merchandise from Grab Indonesia.

In the second half of JSC Goes to School Feat. Grab event, the Jakarta Smart City team took over the stage. The Customer Product Knowledge as well the representative from Jakarta Smart City, Ibnu G Aslam explained to the students the ease of access to digital public services within the Jakarta Province which they can get through the JAKI application (Jakarta Kini). Students were asked to download the JAKI application and be introduced to several features suitable for school and pre-work age, such as Citizen Report, Career in Jakarta, Jakarta Healthy, Jakarta Smart Card Assistance Information, and others. After that, students could ask some questions during the question and answer session. Most of the students enthusiastically asked various questions. The same enthusiasm was seen during the quiz sessions held right after. Students with the best questions and the most correct quiz answers win prizes. JSC Goes to School Feat. Grab ended by inviting the participants to take part in digital activation, which is publishing their excitement throughout the event via Instagram Story.
