Counting the seconds that pass from behind the window, you might hope the pandemic will pass soon. You've been sitting at home for over a year. Meeting various faces virtually even makes you tired. The peak of the second wave of Covid-19 in Jakarta is very worrying, hospitals are full of Covid-19 patients, and you are increasingly wary of spending your time at home. The good news is slowly coming, the Covid-19 vaccination rate is slowly increasing, the daily cases are decreasing, the recovery rate is increasing and the death is decreasing, the restrictions on activities are starting to drop to level 1. Now activities in Jakarta are back to life, transportation is starting to operate 100% and various public locations have started to open.

In the wilderness of Jakarta's buildings, you think of setting foot outside the house after a long time. Outdoor tourism is your choice, because of course it is easier for you to keep your distance from other people and the best place with good air circulation is outdoors. You start making a list in your head, which outdoor tour is the most appropriate for you.

Tourist Attractions in Jakarta

There are various tourist attractions belonging to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government that have been opened at PPKM level 1, one of which is the Ragunan Wildlife Park, a favorite zoo for Jakarta residents. Ragunan Wildlife Park's operating hours are Tuesday-Sunday at 07.00-14.30 WIB. There are various requirements to enjoy Ragunan, namely registering an online D-1 visit via the link: bit.ly/PesantiketTMR and making sure you have been vaccinated at least once.

Besides Ragunan, TMII could be a good choice for you. TMII or Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is an Indonesian cultural-themed tourist park in East Jakarta. As an outdoor tour, visitors are offered a summary of cultures from all over Indonesia, there is even a lake with a miniature of the Indonesian archipelago. What an interesting place to learn and play after a long time spent at home. Of course, vaccination requirements are also required to enter this area.

After thinking about the two green outdoor tours, Ancol, one of which contains beach tourism and is equipped with various other rides, can be an exciting place. At PPKM level 1, Ancol's visitor capacity increased to 75%. Ancol also implements online ticket purchases to control and limit the number of visitors. As one of the largest recreational parks in Indonesia, Ancol offers a variety of outdoor rides while still implementing health protocols.

For the three tourist attractions, odd-even applies at the entrance to the three tourist sites. The odd-even policy at tourist attractions applies from Friday at 12.00 WIB to Sunday at 18.00 WIB. In addition, to enter each tourist area, visitors are required to vaccinate beforehand and check-in using the PeduliLindung application or the Safe Entrance feature at JAKI. Children over 12 years old are also allowed to enter the tourist area provided that they are accompanied by their parents.

City Park and Forest

Parks and Urban Forests scattered in various parts of Jakarta could also be the best choice to spend time in the open space. In addition to the shady place and full of trees, parks and urban forests can be accessed for free by anyone.

One of the urban forests that is currently being hit is the GBK (Gelora Bung Karno) urban forest. This Green Open Space (RTH) is the lungs of the city and a conservation area. This green open space wrapped in green grass is perfect for visitors to sit back and relax with views of the city of Jakarta. The GBK City Forest is for the public with a limited visitor quota of 150 people and is divided into two sessions, namely morning at 06.00-10.00 WIB and afternoon at 15.00-18.00 WIB. The division of the two sessions is very suitable for the right time to relax there so it doesn't get too hot and makes you stifle.

In addition to the GBK urban forest, Suropati park seems to be the right park choice to spend time among shady trees. The atmosphere inside makes visitors feel as if they are in the countryside and away from the hustle and bustle of urban Jakarta. There are fountains, bird houses, park benches for relaxing, and even Jakarta's small library, BookHive. Reading in the shade of the trees will clear your mind.

Taman Maju Bersama, which is a new park in Jakarta that is spread in various places, can be an alternative outdoor location that not many people know about. Gantara Park is one of the TMBs that were built this year and it is worth waiting for its inauguration. This park is located on Jln. H. Raya Kel. North Gandaria District. Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. As an open area completed in 2021, this park is equipped with a children's play area, reflection area, outdoor gym, toilet, guard post, sports field, plaza and a comfortable garden chair area.

What Should be Prepared

There are so many exciting outdoor places to spend time in Jakarta. You find other location points that are no less interesting. While choosing which location is right for you to spend time, you also make a list of things to prepare for visiting outdoor spots. You can be grateful that you have been vaccinated twice, so that vaccination requirements are no longer a problem for visiting various places. You've made sure your body is healthy too. Masks and hand sanitizers are mandatory items that need to be worn and taken outside the house, including to outdoor tourist attractions, because of course the pandemic is not over and you don't want there to be a third wave of Covid-19 in Jakarta. You are also determined to keep your distance from other visitors so you don't get infected with each other or transmit the Covid-19 virus that might stick together accidentally.

In the middle of the rainy season like today, you usually open pantaubanjir.jakarta.go.idto view early warnings and weather status in Jakarta to ensure that you don't get caught in heavy rain that day. Even so, you should still be careful with bringing an umbrella and raincoat.

One thing that you must bring is a smartphone with JAKI already installed in it. There are many things that you can use through JAKI. You can check-in/check out with the safe entrance feature, you can report damaged outdoor facilities through JakLapor, you can also monitor floods through the Flood Monitor feature in it. You feel safer by bringing JAKI and preparing various things before enjoying the outdoors. You look out the window, the weather looks fine and maybe today is the right day for you to spend time outdoors.
