A healthy body leads to a healthy mind. Do you agree? No wonder many of us have a passion for sports. There are even some major events that unite nations through sports. For example, the Olympics are currently taking place in Paris, France. For those of you looking to exercise in Jakarta, there are several interesting places you can try. Let’s check them out below!

Exercise Comfortably at GBK

Need a comfortable sports area? Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) could be the answer! Close to Istora Mandiri MRT Station and Senayan Bank DKI Bus Stop (formerly known as Gelora Bung Karno Bus Stop), this place is perfect for jogging or even cycling. You can run around outside the main stadium and then rest at the nearby stalls. Remember that the GBK area is open until 22:00!

Do Many Activities at Monas

What can you do when visiting the National Monument or Monas? A lot, apparently! There are various recreational activities you can do in its area, including sports like football, volleyball, basketball, and badminton. Don’t forget to bring your own equipment, like a ball. Exercise on the Roof of JIS

Have you ever been to the Jakarta International Stadium? Let’s try exercising at this stadium, commonly referred to as JIS. It is located in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. You can go to the Sky View Deck or the stadium’s roof and access the jogging track. So, you can exercise while looking at Jakarta from above. Interested?

Relax and Exercise at Langsat Park

Can you exercise at a place close to home? Sure, just go to the park! Langsat Park can be your choice if you’re in the Blok M area, South Jakarta. This place is surrounded by shady trees and has a beautiful fountain. Feel free to go jogging!

Free Exercise On Jakarta Anniversary

For the celebration of Jakarta’s Anniversary, there’s an interesting “treat.” Jakarta residents can use the sports facilities and swimming pools for free at Lingkungan Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Provinsi DKI Jakarta! Based on Surat Edaran Kepala Dinas Nomor 28/SE/2024, fees are exempt from retribution. So, don’t forget to enjoy it every year on 22 June!

Fun Exercise with JAKI

So, apparently there are many places we can use for exercising in Jakarta! Need other places? JAKI can help you explore the public facilities you need in Jakarta, including sports facilities. Just download  the application for free, then follow these steps:

  1. Open JAKI.

  1. Type “Maps” in the search bar.

  1. Look at the Fasilitas Umum (public facilities) section, then select Sarana Olahraga (sports facilities).

Are you ready to head to the location for exercise? Don’t worry about getting lost! JAKI can also guide you to your destination. Still using the Maps feature, please explore the Transportasi (transportation) section. After that, choose options such as Bus Stop (Metrotrans and Mikrotrans Stops), Transjakarta Stop, MRT Station, or LRT Station. If you want to go to the Bus Stop, it will show the nearest stop.
