PPKM Regulations in Jakarta During Eid
Welcoming the Eid, which is still overshadowed by the third year of the Covid-19 pandemic, we still must not be careless in carrying out health protocols. We need to always apply this so that transmission does not occur, and with the hope that this pandemic will end soon. Even though Covid-19 cases have decreased significantly compared to Eid in the previous two years, the government is still on standby and continues to emphasize that people must adhere to health protocols. Thus, per Governor's Decree No. 371 of 2022, Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) Level 2 will be enforced this Eid. Of course, this regulation is intended not only to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 but also to make people feel comfortable doing religious activity in the midst of a pandemic.
Activities in Restaurants
During this Eid, food stalls, restaurants, cafes, and street vendors are allowed to open until 22.00, with a maximum capacity of 75%, and a maximum meal time of 60 minutes. Of course, this must also be supported by implementing health protocols such as washing hands, wearing masks, and maintaining distance. The use of the JAKI application that’s integrated with the PeduliLindungi application will continue to screen visitors and employees with the green category.
Work and Offices
During this month of Ramadan, workplaces or offices can operate with a maximum capacity of 75% in locations related to services to the community. As for the location of the workplace for office administration services, it can operate with a capacity of 50%. At these workplaces, employees are required to have been vaccinated, and it is mandatory to use the JAKI application at every entry and exit from the workplace.
Public Transportation
Public transportation has been allowed to operate with stricter implementation of health protocols with the provision of a maximum capacity of 100% on the condition that drivers, workers, and users of the transportation have been vaccinated. For motorcycle taxis, it is expected that the health protocol will be implemented more strictly.
Places of Worship
Meanwhile, congregational worship or religious activities during the implementation period of PPKM Level 2 are allowed on the condition that the place is filled with a maximum capacity of 75%. Of course, the place of worship must enforce strict health protocols in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Religion Number 6 of 2022, and pay attention to the technical provisions of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. These provisions are:
- use masks properly and correctly;
- maintain hand hygiene by washing hands using running water or using hand sanitizer;
- in good health (body temperature below 37 degrees Celsius);
- not currently in self-isolation; and
- bring your own respective worship/religious equipment (prayer mat, mukena, and so on).
Shopping Centers
Shopping centers, malls, or trade centers may operate with the provisions of a maximum capacity of 75% and operating hours until 22.00 by requiring the use of the JAKI application. If you find violations in these public locations, you can report violations through the JAKI application. Don't worry, you can report safely because JAKI will always maintain your anonymity.
Stay Alert When Mudik
Unlike Ramadan in the previous years, due to the relatively improving Covid-19 situation, the government has allowed what Indonesian called ‘mudik’ or returning to hometown activities this year. There are also travel requirements, such as having carried out a third dose of vaccine (booster), or conducting rapid antigen or RT-PCR for those who are still receiving the first and second doses of vaccine. Even so, we still must not be careless about the applicable health protocols, because PPKM is still imposed in several regions.
Now, Smartcitizen already knows the PPKM rules that must be observed during the month of Ramadan. By following the PPKM rules, you are helping to reduce the number of Covid-19 cases. Don't forget to report any PPKM violations you encounter, through the JAKI application which you can download via the Google Play Storeand Apple App Store. Let's make this year's Eid the last Eid we have to go through in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Hopefully, next year's Eid brings togetherness without having to be separated from each other.
