Latest Odd-Even Traffic Rule in Jakarta

In order to streamline road space in Jakarta and relieve congestion, odd-even regulations are applied on various roads for four-wheeled or more motorized vehicles. Odd-even regulations during the pandemic vary according to the level of activity restrictions. Finally, the odd-even regulation will be applied to 13 roads from 24 May to 5 June 2022 based on the Head of Transportation Decree №268 Year 2022. Now, the latest odd-even regulation is implemented on 25 roads which will start on June 6, 2022.

Odd Even Rule Reactivation

The latest odd-even regulations on Jakarta roads are valid Monday-Friday, 06.00–10.00 and 16.00–21.00 WIB.

This latest regulation is adjusted to the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction №26 of 2022, SE Minister of Transportation №45 of 2022, as well as Governor Regulation №88 of 2019. Following are the roads that apply odd-even:

  1. Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan;
  2. Jalan Gajah Mada;
  3. Jalan Hayam Wuruk;
  4. Jalan Majapahit;
  5. Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat;
  6. Jalan M.H. Thamrin;
  7. Jalan Jenderal Sudirman;
  8. Jalan Sisingamangaraja;
  9. Jalan Panglima Polim;
  10. Jalan Fatmawati (from Simpang jalan Ketimun 1 until Simpang Jalan T.B. Simatupang);
  11. Jalan Suryopranoto;
  12. Jalan Balikpapan;
  13. Jalan Kyai Caringin;
  14. Jalan Tomang Raya;
  15. Jalan Jenderal S. Parman (from Simpang Jalan Tomang Raya until Jalan Gatot Subroto);
  16. Jalan Gatot Subroto;
  17. Jalan M.T. Haryono;
  18. Jalan H.R. Rasuna Said;
  19. Jalan D.I. Panjaitan;
  20. Jalan Jenderal A. Yani (from Simpang Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya until Jalan Gatot Subroto);
  21. Jalan Pramuka;
  22. Jalan Salemba Raya Sisi Barat dan Jalan Salemba Raya Sisi Timur (from Simpang Jalan Paseban Raya until Simpang Jalan Diponegoro);
  23. Jalan Kramat Raya;
  24. Jalan St. Senen;
  25. Jalan Gunung Sahari.

Exception for Motorized Vehicles Entering Odd-Even Areas

The odd-even application on the 25 road sections is exempted for certain vehicles, those are:

  1. Specially marked vehicles that carry people with disabilities.
  2. Ambulance vehicle.
  3. Firefighter.
  4. Public transportation (yellow plate).
  5. Vehicles driven by electric motors.
  6. Motorcycle.
  7. Special goods transportation for BBM and BBG.
  8. Vehicles for the leadership of RI high institutions: President/Vice President; Chairman of the MPR/DPR/DPD; Head of MA/MK/KY/BPK.
  9. Operational Service Vehicles (KDO) with official plates, TNI, and Polri.
  10. Vehicles for leaders and officials of foreign countries and international institutions who are state guests.
  11. Traffic accident aid vehicle.
  12. Vehicles for certain purposes according to the consideration of Polri officers (vehicles carrying money and filling ATMs) with supervision from the Police.
  13. Vehicles for health workers handling Covid-19 during the national disaster management period caused by the spread of Covid-19.
  14. Patient mobilization vehicles and Covid-19 vaccines.
  15. Covid-19 vaccine mobilization vehicle
  16. Oxygen cylinder carrier.
  17. Logistics transport vehicle.

Obedient Driving in Jakarta

If you are a driver of a four-wheeled motor vehicle or more who will travel to Jakarta, make sure you comply with the odd-even regulations that are currently in effect, yes. As an alternative, public transportation can be your choice for mobility in Jakarta. The rate of active cases of Covid-19 has indeed decreased, but the pandemic is still not over. So, don’t be careless and forget to apply health protocols in public transportation.
