Future City Hackathon: Transformation Towards Global City Jakarta

With the theme "Transformation Towards Global City Jakarta," this event aims to generate products, features, or information systems that support Jakarta's indicators as a global city and open opportunities for synergy with selected startups. The development of a global city is based on several Global City indices:

• Sustainable and competitive economy;
• Innovation capacity, including academic performance, startup ecosystem, and competitive research climate;
• Tourist attraction and cultural interaction;
• Quality of living, sustainable environment, and inter and intra-city accessibility.

Registration Requirements

Interested in joining the Future City Hackathon? Make sure your startup meets the following criteria:

• Startups based in Jakarta or outside Jakarta from all regions of Indonesia;
• Startups already have product traction;
• Startups have or have not received funding from angel investors or venture capital;
• Startups have attraction or operate in sectors such as city business development, human capital, information exchange, cultural experience, and political engagement.

Future City Hackathon Activities Timeline

Future City Hackathon consists of several important stages. Note the dates so you don't miss out:

• Registration: Open from June 24 to July 13, 2024.
• Announcement of Selected Participants: Participants who pass the initial selection will be announced on July 17-19, 2024.
• Mentorship Session: Selected participants will attend mentorship sessions from July 22-24, 2024, where they will receive guidance and training from experts.
• Demo and Winner Announcement: The demo session will take place on July 26, 2024, where participants will develop prototypes and present their results to the jury. The winners of the hackathon will also be announced during this stage.

Winners of the Future City Hackathon will receive cash prizes and various benefits, such as pitching their ideas to the Jakarta Smart City investment team and Venture Capital partners, fast-track access to collaborate with Jakarta Smart City, exclusive 1-on-1 mentorship with industry experts, access to the Jakarta Smart City network, and participation in Jakarta Smart City events. For student winners, there's also an opportunity for an internship at Jakarta Smart City.
