The Updates on MRT Jakarta Phase 2 & 3 Construction
Do you enjoy exploring the city by riding the MRT Jakarta? Our beloved mode of transportation has been in operation for five years now, since 2019. Time flies, doesn’t it? As of now, there are 13 MRT Jakarta stations serving us all, covering the Lebak Bulus–Bundaran HI route. Exciting news: soon there will be new stations expanding even further across Jakarta! So far, the MRT Jakarta construction is progressing through Phases 2 and 3. Let’s take a closer look below!
MRT Jakarta North–South Line Route
MRT Jakarta is currently constructing Phase 2 of the North–South Line. If you often pass by Jalan M.H. Thamrin in Central Jakarta, you might have noticed one of the construction sites. Once completed, the North–South MRT Jakarta Line will include the following stations:

- Cipete Raya
- Haji Nawi
- Blok A
- Blok M BCA
- ASEAN
- Senayan Mastercard
- Istora Mandiri
- Bendungan Hilir
- Setiabudi Astra
- Dukuh Atas BNI
- Bundaran HI
- Thamrin
- Monas
- Harmoni
- Sawah Besar
- Mangga Besar
- Glodok
- Kota
- Mangga Dua
- Ancol Park
- Ancol Marina
The North–South Line Phase 2 is divided into two construction segments:
- Phase 2A: seven underground stations (Thamrin–Kota); and
- Phase 2B: two underground stations (Mangga Dua–Ancol Park).
The Ancol Marina station will also serve as a depot station. The target completion for the Bundaran HI–Harmoni route is 2027, with the Harmoni–Kota section expected to be finished by 2029.

MRT Jakarta East–West Line Route
If you live in the eastern or western parts of Jakarta, there’s good news! The construction of MRT Jakarta Phase 3 has officially been announced. This route will stretch from Cikarang, West Java, to Balaraja, Banten. In Jakarta itself, there will be 27 new MRT Jakarta stations. Below is the list of stations on the East–West MRT Jakarta Line:
