It has been several months since the Jakarta Provincial Government first intensified the Digital Nomad Jakartaprogram. This program facilitates Jakartans who want to work from anywhere to work from public spaces and islands in the Jakarta area. Tebet Eco Park and the Thousand Islands are included in the destinations prepared for this program. Have you visited them, Smartcitizen?

Don’t worry if you haven’t. Jakarta Smart City is taking you to these places virtually through Digital Xperience. You can access this virtual tour through the Jakarta Smart City website. Read more to find out how.

Explore Public Places and Thousand Islands

When you first open the Digital Xperience menu, you will be welcomed to take a 360-degree virtual tour. The tour allows you to see and explore the location as if you are on the site. There are three locations that you can choose, Tidung Kecil Island, Bidadari Island, and Tebet Eco Park. In the future, Tidung Besar Island can also be accessed via virtual tours.

Small Tidung Island

You will start the tour in Small Tidung Island from the island pier. You want to see what's around the pier? Move the cursor to the desired direction. You can also move from your current location. For example, from the initial position on the dock, to reach the Volleyball Court, you can follow the click of the arrow that leads to Mini Edu Park, click the arrow again towards the gate, then click the arrow again. Alternatively, you can select the volleyball court area listed at the bottom of the virtual tour and you will immediately arrive at the volleyball court location.

Until the end of this tour, you can see many interesting spots on small Tidung Island, such as the beach, whale skeleton museum, and a turtle rehabilitation place. So, are you interested enough to visit?

Bidadari Island

If you choose to take a virtual tour on Bidadari Island, you will start your journey from the entrance of the island. In addition to moving the cursor, the virtual tour system also automatically moves the camera 360 degrees, so you can see the scenery around you. After clicking the arrow, you will enter the counter area. Moving forward, you will arrive at the downtown of Bidadari. From there, there are several arrows that can lead you to different locations. You can continue your journey according to which direction you want to go, such as the entertainment building or lodging area. If there is a door icon on the screen, it means you can take a closer look at the area by clicking on the icon. One of the door icons can be found at the lodging area.

During the virtual tour, there are several spots that you will find, such as the fort area, mangrove tree area, and left beach landmarks. Several facilities are also available for visitors to Bidadari Island, such as homestays, cafe swimming pools, and entertainment buildings. So you don’t need to worry the next time you visit the site, whether it's for vacation or working from the island, because there are adequate facilities to make you comfortable during your visit.

Tebet Eco Park

You have visited the islands in Jakarta virtually. Now, it is the time to return to the downtown of Jakarta, to be more precise, Tebet Eco Park. Your virtual journey at Tebet Eco Park starts from a spot near the signpost. In that area, there are three road options that you can take. All three will take you to different areas. You just have to choose which path you want to take. During the trip, your eyes will be cooled by the green scenery on the right and left. Tebet Eco Park looks clean and organized. There are no trashers or graffiti around the park. Trash cans are also available in several spots, making it easier for visitors to dispose of garbage in its place.

Regardless of which way you go, you will see benches in several areas of the park. These benches are usually used by visitors to Tebet Eco Park to sit or relax while reading a book.

Fun fact, Tebet Eco Park is also children-friendly! During the tour, you may find swings and children's play areas in this park. Visitors who come with their children can play with them there. In addition, there are other interesting things in this park that you can't find in some other parks. At Tebet Eco Park, you can read books provided by Bookhive. You can take and read the books from the mini storage boxes in the corner of the garden. To be more relaxed, try reading a book while sitting on a bench under shady trees.

For your information, the location of Tebet Eco Park used to be Honda Park and Bibit Park which were located opposite each other. At the current Tebet Eco Park, there is a bridge called the Infinity Bridge, which combines the two opposite areas of Tebet Eco Park. You can also experience crossing this bridge when you take the virtual tour.

With 7 hectares of land, Tebet Eco Park is quite extensive. There are also many spots available besides the ones we have explored, such as thematic gardens, community lawns, and event lawns. Even though it's spacious, you don't have to worry about getting lost. There’s a map for you to read whenever you need guidance.

The virtual tour to Jakarta's public spaces through Digital Xperience has ended. With this technology, hopefully it will be more helpful for you to get a grasp on the public spaces through your smartphone before visiting the sites. However, there are still some experiences that you can only get if you come to the location. So, let's go to Jakarta's public spaces! You might also need to prepare the JAKIapp to register your visit through the Ruang Ketiga feature. Don't have JAKI yet? Download on Google Play Storeor Apple App Store. Last but not least, don't forget to keep the public places clean when you visit them!
