It’s important to be informed on potential floods during the rainy season so we can anticipate things that may happen. Pantau Banjir, an official website made by the Jakarta Provincial Government, allows everyone to get access to information about floods in Jakarta. Through the Datamenu, you’ll find a dashboard containing pump and floodgate information, and all data is accessible to everyone. The data is updated regularly, so you’ll get the most up-to-date information. How important is this dashboard for the citizens? Let's take a closer look into it!

Water Pump Condition

This table presents the information on water pumps that are currently on standby and operating in Jakarta. You can see the names of the pumps, latest reporting time, total pumps, as well as the pumps that are active. If you scroll down, you’ll find a more detailed table of the water pumps such as the authority responsible for the operation of the pump and the latest weather in the area.

Top 5 Pump Houses with Number of Active Pumps per Hour

While the previous table displays pump info, this section displays the pump house with the number of active pumps. As the graph shows, on November 26, 2021 at 6 am there were two active pumps at Mangga Besar, two active pumps at Mangga Dua Sisi Utara, one active pump at Mangga Dua Abdad, and two active pumps at Bulak Cabe.

Floodgate Condition and Floodgate Status Percentage

The data on this bar graph is likely to be the most relevant data for citizens to monitor. If the water level on a floodgate has exceeded the normal limit, it means the citizens should be prepared for flood mitigation. The graph presents water level conditions at several floodgates in Jakarta: Pasar Ikan, Marina, HEK PGC, Karet, Manggarai KCL, Jembatan Merah arah Husada, Pulo Gadung, Manggarai BKB, Jembatan Merah arah Marina, and Istiqlal. The colors displayed represent the status of the floodgates: green means normal or standby 4, yellow means standby 3, orange means standby 2, and red is standby 1. For example, the Manggarai BKB has a green bar, so the water level in that area is considered normal. In Manggarai BKB, if the water level  is less than 749 cm, then the status is normal. However, if it’s more than 950 cm, then the status is standby 1. Beside the bar chart, there’s a pie chart that shows the percentage of floodgates status. It can be seen that the floodgates with normal status dominate the graph, followed by floodgates with standby  2, and floodgates with standby 3. As you scroll to the bottom of the dashboard, you’ll see a detailed floodgate report with floodgate status, water level in the floodgate area, flow direction, and weather around the floodgate.

Summary of Citizen Relation Management (CRM)

Smartcitizen, have you ever submitted a report regarding the flood? Did you know that the number of citizen’s reports submitted to Citizen Relation Management (CRM), including JAKI, is recorded on this dashboard? Yup, the summary is presented in this dashboard. It’s divided into several sets: number of reports per region, percentage of completed reports, number of affected neighborhoods, and the water level in reported areas. You can see which areas with the most reports regarding flooding, how many citizen’s reports have been completed, how many neighborhoods are affected by flood, as well as the water levels.

That’s the information you can get on the Pantau Banjir dashboard, a product of collaboration between Jakarta Smart City, Jakarta Disaster Management Agency, Jakarta Water Resource Agency, and Jakarta Human Settlements, Spatial Planning and Land Affairs Agency. In addition to providing easy access to flood information in Jakarta, the government continues to mitigate inundation and flooding in Jakarta by building vertical drainage, continuing the river naturalization programs, mud dredging, and more. If you’re regularly on the move during this rainy season, don’t forget to bring your umbrella or raincoats and stay alert! Check on the latest conditions around your area through the Pantau Banjir website before leaving your house. Additionally, features like JakPantau, JakLapor, and JakSiaga on JAKI are also available to help you get through the day. If you don't have JAKIyet, get the app on the Play Storeor App Store!
