3 New Features on the JAKI App
As part of its ongoing commitment to building a smart and responsive city, the JAKIapp continues to introduce innovations tailored to the needs of its citizens. This time, the focus is on emergencies and humanitarian conditions that call for swift action and deep empathy.
Three new features have been launched: Emergency Button, Thousand Islands Funeral Boat, and Thousand Islands Residents' Temporary Shelter. What benefits do they offer? Read on to find out.
Emergency Button: Quick Response in Times of Disaster
Smartcitizens can now contact emergency services like the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) during critical situations like floods, earthquakes, fires, or urgent medical emergencies. The Emergency Button feature allows users to instantly report incidents and request help with just one tap on the app.
Using the feature is simple. Open the JAKI app, tap the red icon at the bottom-right corner of the home screen, and select the service you need. For non-medical emergencies such as natural disasters, tap Jakarta Siaga 112. For medical emergencies requiring an ambulance, select Ambulans.

With this feature, users can call either Jakarta Siaga 112 or request an ambulance quickly through the same emergency menu.
Funeral Transport Service for Kepulauan Seribu
Another new service JAKI offers is Langkah 1.000, a digital solution for grieving families in the Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu). This feature enables residents to submit requests for funeral transportation from the islands to Jakarta faster and more conveniently.
To access the service, go to the All menu in JAKI’s home screen features, then open the Category tab. Select Reports and Civil Registry from there, and find the Kapal Jenazah Pulau Seribu service. You’ll find a detailed explanation of the service procedure, required documents, photos of the funeral transport vessel, and a button to request. After submitting, users will be directed to contact a staff member via WhatsApp to proceed with the process.

Temporary Shelter for Patient Companions
For residents of Kepulauan Seribu accompanying family members undergoing medical treatment in Jakarta, the Rumah Singgah feature provides free temporary accommodation. This facility is specifically intended for companions of inpatients, ensuring they can stay close and support the treatment process smoothly.
More than just a place to rest, Rumah Singgah also offers support for hospital administrative processes. Currently, two shelters operate 24/7, located near Koja Regional Hospital (RSUD Koja) and Cengkareng Regional Hospital (RSUD Cengkareng)—the two main referral hospitals for BPJS patients from the Thousand Islands.
To access this service, open the JAKI app and tap All in the feature menu on the home screen. Then go to the Category tab, choose Civil Registry, and look for Rumah Singgah Warga Pulau Seribu.

On the service page, you’ll find a complete explanation of the shelter’s facilities, the steps to submit a request, the requirements, and photos of the accommodation. You’ll also find a button to choose a shelter that suits your needs, followed by instructions to contact a staff member via WhatsApp for further coordination.
