A Day with JAKI: As an Office Worker
The ringing of the alarm woke me from my dream. With groggy eyes, I fumbled for my cell phone on the nightstand. "It's 5.30 am," I mumbled, the early hour a harsh reminder of the day that lay ahead. I had a mere hour and a half to prepare before stepping into the bustling world of the office, deep within the heart of the metropolitan city. Every day was a meticulous calculation of travel time, considering the labyrinthine routes of public transportation. I braced myself for the queues and the crowd, a ritual that had become the norm for an urban worker like me. Without wasting any time, I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. Half an hour later, I found myself seated at the dining table, ready for breakfast.
Find Routes and Schedule with Public Transportation Feature
While eating, I reached for my trusted companion, the JAKI app. Its interface had a new, cleaner look that caught my attention. Navigating to the "Public Transportation" menu, I selected the MRT Jakarta mode of transportation. The app promised to make my daily urban adventures more manageable, guiding me through the city's maze with ease. Little did I know how indispensable it would become in my everyday life.
The MRT route from Lebak Bulus Grab to Bundaran HI appears. Because I was going to get on from Lebak Bulus Station and get off at Bundaran HI Station, I tapped on the route until it displayed the MRT departure schedule. Considering that it is 6.00 a.m and it takes ten minutes to travel from my house to the Lebak Bulus MRT Station, I can take the 06.20 a.m MRT and arrive at the Bundaran HI at 06.48 a.m. Fortunately, my office is not far from the MRT station, so once I get there, I can continue my journey on foot.
Keep Me Updated with the News Feature
Exactly as expected, I took the MRT which departed at 06.20 a.m. It's an advantage getting on from the first station, I can get a seat. The trip will take around twenty-eight minutes, so I usually use that time to browse and find new information. My job as a Social Media Officer requires me always to be updated with the latest news and trends.
I opened the JAKI app on my cellphone. Then, I tapped the newspaper-shaped icon named News. When the feature is open, my eyes immediately fall on the slider that contains several pieces of news from Berita Jakarta; dredged road canals, road construction plans in Cakung, to the achievement of regional tax revenues in West Jakarta. My thumb scrolled the page again to the Info Terkini section. There was some information, one of which was an appeal to report cases of infectious diseases, epidemics, deaths, and health issues which I ended up reading.
After reading the news, I scrolled down the main News feature page again. There are some tweets about the water level. Unfortunately, they are the news I need right now because it’s currently sunny. I might need the information during the rainy season. I scrolled down again until I found the JaKita Magazine shortcut. I tapped on the banner and I was taken to the main page of the site. I chose the latest issue of the magazine and started reading the sections one by one. Before I knew it, twenty-eight minutes had passed. The MRT train dropped me off at the Bundaran HI station. I put my cell phone in my pocket and walked towards the train door. I sighed, getting ready to take on the day. Just then, the train door opened.
Book a Visit to Park is Easier with Jakarta Park Feature
It was 4.28 p.m. when I typed the last sentence of the social media caption which was my last job today. My working hours ended at 4.00 p.m, but I had to go home later because there was still work to be done. Even so, I wanted to go home especially because tomorrow would be Saturday, time to have a weekend getaway and spend time with family and friends.
Shortly after my work was done, I grabbed my cell phone and opened the JAKI application. Yesterday, I saw an influencer uploading her activities during a visit to the Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park. From the video, in the park, I saw various cafes, a reading room, and filled with young people. Since I've never been there, I decided to visit tomorrow. But before that, I had to register for a visit through JAKI.
The JAKI app homepage greets my eyes. In the search bar on the homepage, I typed "park". Immediately, the Map feature, Tebet Eco Park, and Jakarta Park (Taman Jakarta) recommendations appeared. I chose Jakarta Park as I desired. After tapping it, I was directed to make reservation options, check tickets, or find a location point. I selected the Reservation option and followed the directions to register for my visit tomorrow. After successfully registering, I was given a QR code which I needed to save and show to the staff at the park.
I looked around, my co-workers had left the office one by one. Some colleagues were clearing the table, preparing to go home. No wonder, it’s already 04.35 p.m., I said. I quickly turned off the laptop, put my things in my bag, and cleaned the table. I walked over to the attendance machine and taped my thumb on it fill.
Every Activity Becomes Easier with JAKI
It was 7.00 p.m and I was already in bed. After a long tiring day, I could finally straighten my waist and rest. As an office worker in Jakarta, Monday to Friday is quite tough. Moreover, I depend on public transportation, with Jakarta's congested conditions and bad air quality.
Fortunately, for the past three years, during my days as an office worker, I could always rely on JAKI. Starting from the need to check routes, schedules, and fares for public transportation, read the news, and register visits to parks, to mandatory things such as paying taxes. Before JAKI, I used several applications to get information and access services. But after having JAKI, with just one application, I can do everything. Even now, there is an office worker persona that includes recommended features for office workers like me, so I don't have to bother exploring it myself.
What about you, fellow office workers? Have you used JAKI? If you want to enjoy the convenience that I have, download the JAKI application on the Google Play Storeor Apple App Store. Who knows, your days will be easier with JAKI?
