Throughout the past year until now, we are often presented with losses. Lots of events in the past year have made us realize that life does not go according to our wants and plans. Of course, we want to be able to spend a lot of time with our loved ones. However, no one can ensure how much time is left for us and them.

Perhaps, not all Smartcitizen have experienced it, but losing family members is not easy. It must be very chaotic. The wounds of the loss have not yet recovered, but several things are already in line to be taken care of quickly, including burial permit.

For those of you who haven’t known how to get a grave land use permit, you are reading the right article. The City Park and Forest Service under the auspices of Jakarta Provincial Government has an online burial service program. This aims to avoid fraud at the Public Cemetery (TPU), such as illegal fees and fictitious graves.

The burial data provided consists of the data of the deceased and the availability of grave plots in real time. Data on the deceased includes data of the TPU, units, blocks, and grave plots. By having a database that is updated regularly, the practice of illegal burial permits can be avoided. Let’s read the explanation below.

Procedures to Get Grave Land Use Permit (IPTM)

If you want to get the permit to use the grave land, whether it is for a new grave/an extension for old grave, Smartcitizen who is the heir/responsible party of the body/deceased must do the following things:

  1. Prepare documents

Prepare some of the required documents, such as:

  1. ID Card (KTP) and Family Card (KK) of the heir/applicants
  2. ID Card and Family Card of the deceased
  3. Sub-district Cover Letter
  4. Body Examination Letter from the Hospital/Puskesmas
  5. Death Certificate from Sub-district
  6. Request a Burial Cover Letter from TPU office

Go to the Public Cemetery (TPU) office to look for the grave plot that the officers escorted to. Furthermore, you as the heir/responsible party will get a Burial Cover Letter to the PTSP Kelurahan from the TPU manager.

  1. Verify the documents by PTSP Kelurahan

Bring the documents that you have prepared beforehand along with the Burial Cover Letter to the PTSP Kelurahan. PTSP Kelurahan will verify your documents. If your file has been verified, PTSP Kelurahan will issue an Regional Retribution Decree (SKRD) in accordance with the grave block used.

  1. Pay your SKRD

At this stage, you are required to pay the SKRD Letter. You can pay it via a Bank DKI virtual account, via a Bank DKI teller, or other retribution payments.

  1. Get validation number and SSRD information

After making a levy payment, you will get an validation number information and a Regional Levy Deposit (SSRD) for the payment. The validation number must be submitted back to PTSP Kelurahan in order to get an IPTM. After obtaining the IPTM, you as the heir/responsible party can bury the body in the TPU.

At this time, all TPU under the management of the City Park and Forest Service has implemented an online IPTM management system. This system will make it easier for the TPU managers to ensure the conditions for mapping the bodies and PTSP Kelurahan to issue an IPTM. By that, your grave permit process will  be completed more quickly, right?

Online Check on the Permit History of Grave Land and TPU Contact Person

Another form of convenience that Smartcitizen will get from this online burial service program is regarding data transparency. Smartcitizen who is the heir/responsible party of the deceased can easily view the permit history of the grave land use through the City Park and Forest Service website. If you need in-depth information regarding the burial ground, you can contact the people responsible for each TPU.

That is some information on an online burial service program available for Jakarta citizens. Hopefully, this program can help ease the burden of those who need to take care of their loved ones’ burial.
