Striving to build an inclusive digital ecosystem, Jakarta Smart City is holding JSC Goes to School. This program aims to bridge digital players or the technology industry with students and pupils as future digital talents. JSC Goes to School provides an online seminar that invites professionals from technology companies as speakers to share knowledge and experiences with high school, vocational, MA (Madrasah Aliyah), and university students.

JSC Goes to School: Preparing Future Digital Talents

Before the collaboration with digital companies, The JSC Goes To School was already routinely carried out by Jakarta Smart City by visiting schools in Jakarta. However, this year, the program was developed by inviting technology companies as collaborators. The collaboration was done due to the vision and mission of Jakarta Smart City to educate citizens in the field of information technology, including creating an inclusive digital ecosystem, for all people and ages.

Apart from that, a mismatch between educational background and work, meaning that anyone can work in the technology field, and the need for 600,000 digital talents every year, has made Jakarta Smart City become more firmly believe in bringing together young talents with technology companies. By holding the JSC Goes to School program, it is hoped that there will be a transfer of knowledge, understanding, and digital expertise, as well as an opening of information channels for students’ and pupils’ internships. 

JSC Collaboration with Zenius for JSC Goes to School

As a technology company that focuses on education, Zenius has the same vision as Jakarta Smart City in providing the widest possible educational benefits for the community. Therefore, Jakarta Smart City is working with Zenius in the JSC Goes to School program.

The webinar, which is part of the JSC Goes to School x Zenius series of events, will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2022, from 13.30 to 15.00. Brought up the theme of Siapkan Diri Kamu untuk Menjadi Talenta Digital Masa Depan (Prepare Yourself to Be Future Digital Talents), this webinar invited Muhammad Arditama Febrianza (Sr. People Partner Zenius) and Alika Hanoum Laksmiari (Customer Product Knowledge Jakarta Smart City) as speakers. There were 468 webinar participants, who came from four schools in Jakarta, which are SMA 8 South Jakarta, SMA 33 West Jakarta, SMA 20 Central Jakarta, and SMA 49 South Jakarta. The Jakarta Smart City team also visited these schools to directly guide and monitor the running of the webinar. Not only gaining new knowledge and discussing with the speaker, there were many benefits gained by the participants. Such as, the opportunity to get 50 free study vouchers from Zenius and 10 merchandise for active participants. Apart from that, the students also got insights regarding the JAKI(Jakarta Kini) application from the Jakarta Smart City team.

The super application, JAKI, which integrates more than 50 public services, has a variety of features that students can use. For example, JakWifi to support learning activities, JakNaker to find job vacancies, JakSehat to make it easier for students to access physical and mental health services, and JakLapor to report problems they find, both in the education sector and others. It is hoped that students will not only get digital competency, but also be able to be digitally literate through the daily use of the JAKI application.
