It was a sunny afternoon in Taman Ismail Marzuki in Cikini, Central Jakarta. I sat under a tree, waiting for the arrival of my college friends. We made an appointment to visit the Jakarta Library to look for books that could help with thesis research. Not long after I got there, my friends, Sita, Dion, and Rinjani came over.

"Have you registered for a visit?" I asked.

They shook their heads. I reached for my cell phone in my pocket, then I opened the JAKI application. "Let me show you how to register through JAKI. You follow with your cell phones."

"We can register it from JAKI?" asked Dion. I looked at him and my two other friends already holding their cell phones.

"Yes, by using the Jakarta Library feature."

"Please, show us the way,” Rinjani peeked at my cellphone screen.

The JAKI application popped up on my screen. I scrolled down the homepage, "To make it easier, let’s access the feature via the Student persona."

My friends nodded, still intently watching.

I clicked on Student persona. Several recommended features for students immediately appeared, such as the Jakarta Library, Free Wifi, Tebet Eco Park, Parks in Jakarta, Rent sports equipment, and Career in Jakarta. We wanted to register a visit to the Jakarta Library at Taman Ismail Marzuki, so I selected the Jakarta Library feature.

"What should we do afterward?" asked Sita.

"We will be directed to the Jakarta Library website or JAKLITERA," I explained. "Click Explore, then select Reservasi Kunjungan (Visit Reservations)," I continued the explanation.

"We are not members, so select the Non-Member (General) category, then fill in the name of the intended library, date of visit, and requested personal data one by one. "Don't forget to fill in today's date, okay?" I continued while typing in my personal data. My friends followed the steps I instructed.

"I've done it!" Rinjani exclaimed.

“Next, click Submit. You will have a QR code appear. Later, you have to show this code to the staff at the library. If you want it to be easier, you can click Save to download the QR code. "But, later you will also be informed of proof of registration for the visit via WhatsApp," I said while clicking the Submit button.

Sita, Dion, and Rinjani followed what I did. After a few seconds, all four of our cell phones rang. WhatsApp notifications indicating that a message from the Jakarta Library containing QR code information for visits had been received. The tickets were already in our hands. Not wanting to waste time, we immediately walked to the library.

Learning Activities Became Easier with JAKI

The watch on my hand showed that it was three in the afternoon when we left the Jakarta Library. We spent about two hours there. We didn't plan for an extended visit, just looked for books to support our thesis, wrote down the contents, and then went home. There was no less important agenda to do after this, which was a group study to prepare for TOEFL. To be able to take part in the thesis trial, one of the mandatory requirements from my campus is a TOEFL score above 550.

We chose the Christina Martha Tiahahu Literacy Park in Blok M, South Jakarta, as a place for the group study. Apart from being a cold place, there is also a reading room which provides a variety of books there. Just in case we need to look for books for TOEFL study materials, we thought. Before leaving, we registered our visit first via the Parks in Jakarta feature on JAKI. We select the Reservation service, fill in the required personal data, and finally get a QR code as a ticket.

It was already four o'clock in the afternoon when we arrived at the Literacy Park. My friends and I immediately looked for a comfortable spot for group study. Our choice fell on the chairs under the shady trees on the side of the garden. We opened our laptops when Dion asked, “Is there a wifi here?”

“Just use JakWifi,” I said.

"How to access it?" he asked.

"Open the Student persona in JAKI. Click the Free Wifi feature, select the free Wifi around us, and connect to the SSID or network name that the address caught."

"What’s the password?"

"Try using untuksemua deh. Does it work?"

“It works! Thanks, by the way. Where do you know this kind of information?"

“I saw it in JAKI's Instagram. They usually, update all of the information about the application there.”

My friends were amazed. After everyone was successfully connected to the internet, we started the study group.

Preparation for Job Search Through JAKI

When Rinjani, Dion, and I were working on TOEFL simulation questions, Sita suddenly said, "By the way, I’m looking for a job.”

"You have worked before, have you?" I asked.

"Yes, I have. But I want to work again. It's good enough to earn extra money since this is the end of the semester, we are no longer busy," she answered.

"You can look for a job or internship through JAKI," I said.

Sita replied in a higher tone of voice, a sign that she was enthusiastic, "If I'm not mistaken, this is part of the JakNaker program, right?"

I nodded, and I showed her the Careers in Jakarta feature which I accessed through the Student persona. Careers in Jakarta is a shortcut feature to the Jaknaker.idsite, which is a career portal for Jakarta citizens, especially the younger generation, who want to develop their careers. There are various services offered, such as job vacancies, internship vacancies, TopKarir clinics or career development consultations, interest and aptitude tests, TopEdu or training, entrepreneurship, scholarships, and others.

I clicked on the Job Vacancy service, and various job opportunity information from multiple companies appeared.

"There are lots of choices. I'll check later!" Sita exclaimed excitedly. We continued our study.

JAKI Helps Out Students

It was 8 p.m when I got home. I stretched my legs on the living room sofa. I was quite productive today, so I'm a bit tired. However, I am happy, because I can study and prepare my thesis and thesis defense with my friends. My mind flashed back to the things I did today with them. I just realized that we could do what we did and visit the places we visited today because of the JAKI application. Starting from registering for our visit to the Jakarta Library and Literacy Park, and accessing free Wi-Fi, to looking for work and internships in Jakarta. There are still other features that we haven’t had the chance to try, such as Tebet Eco Park and Sports Equipment Rental.

JAKI also collects all these features in one persona: the Student persona. So, when we want to use it for daily needs, for example studying or hanging out, we don't need to bother looking for features one by one. Just open the Student persona, all the required features are there. JAKI truly simplifies things! If you are a student, college student, or included as other personas and want to try JAKI's superior services, download the application through the Google Play Storeor Apple App Store. Hopefully, JAKI will make your life easier, just like it does mine.
