Are you a frequent user of public transportation in Jakarta? If so, there will be good news for you! In the near future, if you use the Commuter Line, MRT, LRT, and Transjakarta, you will enjoy a more integrated and seamless experience in the payment system. Jakarta has conducted a trial for the integration of public transportation payments with the JakLingko application. According to Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria during the JakLingko trial, the use of the JakLingko application will be much easier and faster.

Easier Public Transport Payments

When the current system is perfected, payment of public transportation modes in the greater Jakarta region will be carried out in an integrated system via application (super apps) and JakLingko cards. The payment system has been tested on a limited basis in August 2021. Payment trials have been conducted on four modes of transportation such as Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, Commuter Line, and LRT.

At the time of the trial, the deputy governor traveled from Bundaran HI MRT Station, then continued to take the Commuter Line train at Sudirman Station, then get off in Manggarai to take Transjakarta to Rawamangun, and finally, take the LRT from Velodrome Station and ending the trip at Pegangsaan Dua Station. The travel time is three hours and the price to use the four modes of transportation is 10,000 rupiah.

This integrated payment system is expected to facilitate people in their travel time through the JakLingko application. The system will be built in stages at several in-out gates in the four modes of public transportation in Greater Jakarta. Similarly, the launch of the JakLingko application will be carried out in mid-September 2021.

The plan is that this integrated payment system is targeted to be used by the public in March 2022. Now, seeing progress like this, of course you can't wait to enjoy services that are more comfortable and efficient with public transportation modes in the Jakarta area and its surroundings.
