After the challenging year of 2020, you may think that it was not worth it to look back. You may say that it's a write-off. It's understandable. The Covid-19 pandemic is widely regarded as one of the worst crises the world has ever faced. But, amid the difficult times, Jakarta Smart City, with the help of Jakarta people, can feel proud of what they can do and what they achieved. We choose to adapt, we choose empathy, and we choose to survive. The same can be said about JAKI, Jakarta's very own super-app. It was and still is the story of innovation in the ever-changing way of our lives. So, let's take a moment, and let us take you to our story in 2020.

Machine Learning-Based Covid-19 Self-Assessment Tool

When face-to-face consultation was no longer feasible during the pandemic, most citizens turned to telemedicine to find out if they had symptoms of Covid-19. However, this method often gives less accurate results and even raises more questions. This is the factor behind the development of the JakCLM or Covid Likelihood Metric feature on JAKI.

JakCLM is an innovation from the collaboration between JSC and the Harvard CLM Team. Unlike the self-testing services circulating in public at that time, JakCLM implemented machine learning technology. This method allows the processing of user medical and travel history to provide better accuracy. The results from JakCLM can then be used as the first indication, whether you need to do a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test.

Pandemic Dedicated Features

After JakCLM, JAKI continues to develop additional features to maintain Jakarta residents' health during the Covid-19 pandemic. You can find this in the Jakarta Covid-19 Response menu. Features such as Data Monitoring are a shortcut to check the development of the Covid-19 cases in Jakarta. Then there is also the Distribution Map to see data on pandemics' spread by districts in the DKI Jakarta area. If you want to know the risk status of the place you are in, then try to access the Zoning feature. The feature for helping others is also available through the KSBB (Large-Scale Social Collaboration) service. JAKI also integrates applications from partners such as PeduliLindungi, which resulted from collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

Jejak to Prevent New Clusters

Jakarta Smart City collaborates with Cartenz in launching Jejak, a digital guestbook feature for capacity control inside a building. As we know, Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) also regulate the maximum number of visitors in buildings during the pandemic. Before Jejak was introduced, visitors usually have to write their information in the regular guest book manually. Now, visitors only need to scan the QR code printed at the entrance and exit. Through this breakthrough, JAKI users can safely do activities in the building without worrying that their workplace will exceed the specified capacity.

Winning the National ICT Competition

The head of JSC, Yudhistira Nugraha, said that JAKI has become a collaborative ecosystem or an inclusive environment for the government and citizens to collaborate and advance the city of Jakarta together. This main advantage led JAKI to emerge victorious in the national ICT competition (IdenTIK). Held by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics in November 2020, JAKI faced tough competitors from all over Indonesia. After passing the jury's assessment, JAKI finally managed to outperform the Pikobar application from the West Java Provincial Government and Amikom University's Smart Terminal in the Public Sector category. As the winner, JAKI will represent Indonesia in a regional competition, the ASEAN ICT Awards in Malaysia.

Hide Report Feature

Your voices and opinions are always a valuable input for the development of JAKI. Don't ever feel shy. Express your opinions about what you think can be improved or the features you want to see available on JAKI. Like recently with the presence of the Hide Report feature. Although JAKI has always prioritized personal data confidentiality since its development, many users are still worried when they want to report violations or problems. After a thorough evaluation process, a solution was finally created for a new way of making reports that were not visible to other users. If you activate this feature, the reports you create will only be sent to the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) officer for follow-up.

Become the Most Popular Report Channel

Improvement after another improvement, JAKI continues to grow. And now, it finally sits at the top as the most popular channel for citizens to report PSBB violations. JAKI leads other channels, such as Twitter, Email, SMS, and Qlue.

Through the 2020 data above, we can see the proportion of the number of reports that go to the Citizen Relation Management (CRM) system per complaint channel. Notice how JAKI is represented by the biggest box compared to other complaint channels. Meanwhile, the table on the right lists the details of the number of reports from each channel. JAKI became the most popular with 2,898 reports, exceeding the number of reports sent via Twitter social media (1,324 reports).
