We have passed 2021 with JAKI (Jakarta Kini). This year, JAKI has fulfilled the needs of citizens from various aspects through its integrated information and services. As a ‘super app’ that offers smart city-style public services, the integrated system of JAKI has been successful. Evidently, the time and energy needed by the Jakartans to take care of various needs has been reduced by JAKI. Nowadays, the things that used to be done offline can be done with just one application, which can be accessed from anywhere and anytime in a matter of minutes. Moreover, the collaborative ecosystem adopted by JAKI also optimizes the efforts to advance the city of Jakarta, considering that every party, including the government, community, citizens, and various other stakeholders participates.

The success of JAKI is inseparable from the support of the people of Jakarta and its developer team, Jakarta Smart City. During 2021, the team developed JAKI so that it can adapt to the ever-changing conditions and challenges of the city to help citizens. This innovation also led JAKI to win more and more achievements in 2021. So, let's take a look back at the story of JAKI throughout 2021.

Checking Bed Availability and Covid-19 Social Assistance Info

Continuing the efforts to respond to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, at the beginning of the year, the JAKI development team added two features to the Jakarta Respond Covid-19 (Jakarta Tanggap Covid-19) menu. Those two features are View Data on Bed Availability of the Jakarta Covid-19 Hospital and the Check Recipients Menu and Social Assistance Schedule. The first menu allows the public to check the number of beds available at hospitals that treat Covid-19 patients in Jakarta. While the latter can be used to check whether you are a recipient of social assistance or not, as well as view the schedule of social assistance. Both of these features can be accessed on both iOS and Android versions of JAKI starting February 4, 2021.

Manage Permits Easily Through JakEvo

On the same date, one of JAKI's features, namely the JakEvo, was optimized. This feature can help you to take care of various permits and non-permits documents online. With JakEvo optimization, Smartcitizens can get experience in managing said documents at JAKI with minimal hassle.

Accelerate the Covid-19 Vaccination

Along with the government’s recommendation for 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccination, JAKI also released a feature related to vaccination on the Android version of JAKI on March 11, 2021 and on the iOS version on March 30, 2021. Initially, this feature only functioned to check the status and date of vaccine appointments. However, over time, the need to meet vaccination targets for Jakarta residents has increased, so the feature’s function grows into a vaccination registration platform. Initially, this registration feature was intended for the elderly, but now it has been expanded for ages 6 years and over, in accordance with the latest recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

More JakWiFi Locations and Access Points

In order to provide equitable internet access for students who are studying from home, in the previous year JAKI was equipped with JakWifi. JakWifi is a feature to access public WiFi in Jakarta. However, in March 2021, JakWifi increased the number of access points and locations in the JAKI application. This is intended so that more people can more easily find the connectivity that is provided by JakWifi. This updated version of JakWifi can be enjoyed by Android users from March 19, 2021 and iOS users from March 30, 2021. This innovation is also accompanied by the release of the JakWifi Distribution Access Map on April 22, 2021.

Embrace and Develop MSMEs through JakPreneur

As a program that accommodates the creative and innovative spirit of the people of Jakarta in advancing micro, small and medium scale enterprises (MSMEs), Jakpreneur is increasingly in demand. Supported by the desire to mobilize and grow MSMEs, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also provides easier access to Jakpreneur information through JAKI. The service options provided by the JakPreneur shortcut feature are Marketing Assistance, Capital, Licensing, and Products. This feature can be enjoyed by Smartcitizens through the Android version of JAKI starting April 21, 2021 and iOS starting April 22, 2021.

Provide Taxes Paying Service Through JakPenda

Initially, the JakPenda feature in JAKI only facilitated residents to check the Land and Building Tax (PBB) and Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB). However, on July 1, 2021, JakPenda developed its features by providing a citizen tax code. This feature is further complemented by launching a tax payment service. This way, citizens can directly pay taxes through JAKI. At this moment, this payment feature only applies to the Land and Building Tax.

Protecting Reporter's Identity on JakLapor

If you want to report a city problem through JAKI, it is certain that JakLapor is the feature you are going to use. As the official complaint channel for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, JakLapor offers a secure system for reporting problems encountered in Jakarta. One of the efforts to protect the identity of the reporter is through the private by default system which was launched on July 16, 2021. This system will automatically include your identity as anonymous in the report. The hope is that with this innovation, you will no longer hesitate to report at JAKI and get a safe and satisfying reporting experience.

Call Ambulance is Just A Touch Away via JakAmbulance

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we need to be more vigilant and responsive. This includes responding to emergency conditions that require medical assistance. Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government collaborates with the Jakarta Health Agency, in launching the JakAmbulans feature in JAKI. This feature serves to help you contact the Emergency Ambulance (AGD) team more quickly, with just one touch of the emergency button (panic button). This feature can be used in JAKI starting July 16, 2021.

Safer Activities with Safe Entrance

Activities in public spaces during the pandemic require you to check in and check out. Starting August 24, 2021, you can check in and check out via Safe Entrance by PeduliLindung at JAKI. When you check in via JAKI, you can see the vaccination status and location capacity quota. With this feature, the monitoring process and contact tracing implemented in a number of Jakarta areas can run more stringently.

Help Covid-19 Patients with Plasma Donors

The main challenge facing Jakarta during the pandemic is often related to efforts to flatten the curve of Covid-19 cases . Until now, there has not been found a drug that can specifically cure Covid-19 patients. However, medical personnel are trying to provide alternative treatment for patients with high severity, namely plasma donors. This blood plasma is obtained from the antibodies of recovered Covid-19 patients. Seeing the urgency of this plasma donor, the Jakarta Health Agency collaborated with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) to create a plasma donor registration website. Since September 2, the Plasma Donor website has also been accessible via the shortcut feature on JAKI. This feature complements the Jakarta Respond Covid-19 menu which is intentionally designed to help people live their day during the pandemic.

Easy Access to Jakarta Maps Through JakPeta

Doing activities in Jakarta will be easier if you know the ins and outs of the city. For this reason, on September 30, 2021, JakPeta displayed a map of Jakarta. Here, you can also see the locations of public facilities, transportation, and health facilities available in Jakarta.

Provide Personalized Service with ID Number Verification

From November 11, 2021, JAKI has provided personalized services according to the needs of residents. All you have to do is login at JAKI using your NIK (ID card number) and full name, then you will be directed to various services that you need and are entitled to. You can pay taxes, take KJP (Jakarta Smart Card), and other needs directly at JAKI without having to register yourself. With this integrated and personalized system, you don't need to use multiple accounts or applications.

A Series of Innovations in One Time at the End of the Year

JAKI's efforts in presenting new innovations during 2021 do not stop there. In December 2021, JAKI launched a series of new features for Jakarta residents. These features are JakOne Pay, Check Vaccination Status, Social Assistance Information, SSO (Single Sign-On) JakEvo, Online Queue for Health Facilities, JakEmisi. All of these features launched at the same time on December 21, 2021. JakOne Pay is a digital wallet from Bank DKI for you to make transactions, which is now available on the JAKI application. The Vaccination Status Check feature allows you to view vaccination status and social assistance information (Jakarta Smart Card and Jakarta Student Excellence Card) on the Profile page. SSO JakEvo will make it easier for you to connect with just a single login. You can use the Health Facility Online Queue to take a queue number at a Jakarta hospital. Meanwhile, the JakEmisi feature provides a service for calculating the emissions generated by your daily activities like when you eat and use electronic tools. Quite a lot, right? This set of features is expected to be able to help you complete more of your needs.

JAKI in Numbers

Throughout 2021, JAKI has also achieved various achievements for various services. In the JakLapor feature, for example, as of December 22, 2021, it received 98,177 reports from citizens with 96.49% rate of completion.

Winning the Gold Medal of AICTA 2021

The effort to bring innovation in serving Jakarta citizens led JAKI to achieve a gold medal at the 2021 ASEAN ICT Awards (AICTA) for the Public Sector category. JAKI came out on top over the QR Code System Used by Cambodian Government to Fight Against Covid-19 from Cambodia. and HealthCerts from Singapore.

AICTA is an initiative and project under the auspices of the ASEAN ICT Masterplan 2015, ASEAN ICT Masterplan 2020, and ASEAN ICT Masterplan 2025 to recognize the best ICT (Information and Communication Technology) achievements among entrepreneurs and organizations in ASEAN. Meanwhile, the Public Sector category recognizes information technology innovations carried out by government organizations to provide efficient public services. JAKI's success at the AICTA Award is not only proof of the effectiveness of JAKI as a digital service, but also proof that homegrown technological innovations are able to compete in the ASEAN stage.

To date, two years after its birth, the JAKI application has been downloaded by more than 2 million Smartcitizens. However, this journey is not over yet. In fact, the next phase for JAKI to develop cities through technology has just begun. It is hoped that the JAKI system can later be implemented in other areas while at the same time continuing the development to provide better public services for every Jakarta citizen. In order to do so, the cooperation from various parties is needed, including you. You can do this by involving JAKI in your daily activities, such as checking food prices with JakPangan, finding out the weather forecast via JakWarta messages, or accessing other personalized services. Let’s continue to support JAKI and together we will advance Jakarta!
