Hello, Smartcitizen. The month of Ramadan is halfway over. Various moments come as part of celebrating this blessed holy month. Starting from increasing worship, self-capacity, to running traditions. One tradition that is often carried out in Indonesia is breaking the fast together. This moment is often used as a reunion opportunity to re-establish ties. In addition, various benefits such as gathering, sharing experiences, and discussions add to the pleasure of breaking the fast together.

According to Islamic teachings, the tradition of breaking the fast together is based on the Prophet’s hadith which reads: “Whoever feeds a fasting person, then for him the reward of the fasting person, without reducing the reward of the fasting person in the least.” (H. R. Tirmidhi №807). Although the benefits and pleasures are many, breaking the fast together should not leave obligatory worship such as the five daily prayers. Choosing a strategic place that is close to a mosque or has worship facilities such as a musala is something that needs to be considered. How to choose the right place to break your fast? Check out this article!
