Pantau Banjir: Real-Time Information for Residents

The Pantau Banjir website, accessible on pantaubanjir.jakarta.go.id, is managed in collaboration with the Dinas Cipta Karya, Tata Ruang dan Pertanahan of DKI Jakarta, Dinas Sumber Daya Air (DSDA) DKI Jakarta, and Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of DKI Jakarta. Residents can obtain real-time information on water levels and flood conditions in various Jakarta areas. Data on river and reservoir water levels, as well as affected locations, are available here. This access allows Jakarta residents to plan their travel routes and avoid flooded areas, ensuring safer and more efficient mobility.

Early warning information is sourced from BPBD, keeping residents alert and prepared for any potential disaster in every Jakarta district. The Pantau Banjir website also features the latest data from DSDA regarding water levels at various monitoring stations across the city. To view the extent of affected areas, Dinas Cipta Karya, Tata Ruang dan Pertanahan provides automatically updated data based on affected RT (Rukun Tetangga/neighbourhood units). This information is available under the Peta (map) menu on the Pantau Banjir website. It also includes details on water gates, which are crucial for regulating water flow and preventing floods.

Preventing Floods with the Flood Control System

Another breakthrough in flood control is the Flood Control System. This data-driven system assists the government in making quick and accurate flood mitigation decisions. By integrating data from water level sensors, weather conditions, and an automatic pump system, the Jakarta Provincial Government can optimize the operation of pump stations and water gates. The advanced implementation of IoT (Internet of Things) helps speed up water drainage, reduce the risk of major floods, and improve Jakarta’s overall water management efficiency.

Report Issues in Jakarta with JAKI

Residents can also play an active role in mitigating the rainy season’s impact through the Citizen Report feature on the JAKI super-app. With this feature, people can directly report flooded areas by uploading photos or videos of the affected location. These reports are forwarded to the relevant agencies for immediate action. With community participation, the government can respond faster and more efficiently in handling water puddles and minimizing their impact. For a detailed guide on using this feature, check out this article.

The innovations mentioned above help improve daily activities and mobility for everyone in Jakarta. Hopefully, residents can also actively participate in solving flood-related issues in their neighborhoods. One effective solution you can implement at home is creating biopore holes, which can help reduce water accumulation while also enriching the soil. Jakarta continues to adapt to the challenges of the rainy season through technology-driven solutions. By utilising the available digital platforms, residents can be more prepared for extreme weather and ensure the smooth flow of daily activities. Let’s make the most of the technology at hand to build a more resilient and responsive Jakarta!
