Jakarta Hajatan: Exciting Lists to Celebrate Jakarta’s Anniversary
What a relief! We’re finally going to celebrate this year’s Jakarta’s anniversary with tremendous joy! To commemorate the 495th celebration, a series of exciting events in Jakarta Hajatan are here to welcome you. So many activities are going to be held from May to July, here is your guide to enjoy them.
Java Jazz Festival (JIEXPO Kemayoran, 27-29 May)
If you’re a big fan of music, this year’s Java Jazz must be one of the best highlights of the year. After a two years hiatus due to the pandemic, the Java Jazz Festival finally revived the JIEXPO Kemayoran. Held for three days, international and local musicians are joined together to ignite people’s enthusiasm. Who sang along with Kahitna, Danilla, and Jakob Ogawa?
Formula E (Jakarta International E-prix Circuit, 3-4 June)
This is the one agenda that Formula-E fans have been waiting for. Yup, Formula E Jakarta was held at the brand new Jakarta International E-prix Circuit (JIEC) June 4-5, 2022. For the first time, Jakarta will host this race event that uses electric vehicles. The event, which was attended by 22 drivers, was covered by hundreds of journalists from various countries and was broadcasted to more than 150 countries.
Marvel Studios: A Universe of Heroes Exhibition (Pondok Indah Mall 3, 3 June-14 September)
You may notice this exhibition has become the main topic on social media, which is one of the main reasons why you should visit. The first in Indonesia and the largest in Southeast Asia, there’ll be 60 original film properties covering an area of almost 2,000m2, which will bring Marvel fans closer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even more exciting, you can watch the complete collection of original film properties, costumes, and concept art taken from selected Marvel films. Bulan Seni Rupa (Taman Ismail Marzuki, 6-30 June)
Coming with a new face, Taman Ismail Marzuki is one of the locations that will add to the excitement of the Jakarta Hajatan. In conjunction with Jakarta's anniversary, Taman Ismail Marzuki is planned to be opened to the public starting from June 3, 2022. You’ll find exhibitions of architecture, works of art such as paintings, sculptures, mixed art fabrics using several media and so on. Furthermore, film screenings, workshops, and discussion of fine arts dates will be held to complete the experience. Jakarta Fair (JIEXPO Kemayoran, 9 June-17 July)
The Jakarta Fair is back and will enliven the JIEXPO Kemayoran area. From time to time, this event is the most anticipated event by the citizens because of its festivity, which also explains why it’s the largest exhibition in Southeast Asia. Massive shopping and entertainment destinations, music concerts, art exhibitions, culinary delights, and night markets can be found in the Jakarta Fair. Let’s go!

Musik Tepi Barat
If you usually spend your days in Jakarta, chances are you’ve seen a live music performance around the street. That’s Musik Tepi Barat, a live music performance initiated by the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Office. At the beginning, the performance is aimed to entertain people and to create an attraction spot for tourists who happen to be traveling around the capital city. As we’re entering the new normal, Musik Tepi Barat is such a good refreshment to witness this time.
