Jakarta Smart City Innovation for Jakarta
Smartcitizen, do you know any city in Indonesia that has a birthday in June? Yupss, one of them is Jakarta. On June 22, 2023, Jakarta celebrated its 496th birthday. Jakarta’s birthday celebration is not just a ceremony or entertainment, but also an opportunity to develop innovations that can take the city to the next level.
As a growing metropolitan city, Jakarta faces many challenges. Starting from traffic congestion, efficient resource management, and improving the quality of life of its citizens. Jakarta Smart City (JSC) as part of the Jakarta Provincial Government comes with various innovative solutions to overcome these challenges, using information and communication technology.
One of the main pillars of Jakarta Smart City is the utilization of technology to strengthen government and public services. JSC has launched the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) application as a digital platform that allows Jakartans to access information and public services easily and efficiently. What are the innovations that JSC has done as a gift for Jakarta’s birthday celebration? Let’s check out the article!
Jakarta Future City Hub
Jakarta Smart City in collaboration with Senat Berlin launched the Jakarta Future City Hub (JFCH), an innovation center that aims to gather and develop smart solutions to improve quality of life in Jakarta. The Future City Hub is a place of collaboration between government, industry, and the community to create innovative solutions in various fields, such as transportation, energy, environment, and so on.
Located at Jakarta Box Tower (JB Tower), Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, it is a strategic location for gatherings. JFCH is planned to be officially launched in September 2023. Well, we will look forward to it together!
JAKI (Jakarta Kini) App Update 3.0
JAKI is a super official application owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government that serves to assist citizens in meeting their daily needs and provide complete information about the capital city, including news, weather, transportation, events, and other public services. In honor of Jakarta’s 496th birthday, Jakarta Smart City has updated the JAKI application to version 3.0. New features are added, such as bilingual JAKI, a more user-friendly interface, as well as improved performance and user personalization so that it is more comfortable to use this application as needed.
The service personalization comes by adjusting the needs of those of you who come from various backgrounds, namely students or college students, office workers, job seekers, entrepreneurs, and housewives. In addition to service personalization, the JAKI 3.0 application display also comes with service categorization, such as health, transportation, population, education, reports and emergencies, careers and businesses, social and economic, recreation, sports, environment, public information, partnerships, and government management. So, when using JAKI 3.0, you can choose a category according to the topic or activity you are interested in.
Citizen Account Creation and Integration
As part of efforts to increase public participation in city development, Jakarta Smart City has introduced the concept of Citizen Accounts. Every Jakarta resident can have a personal account that is integrated with various public services, such as health registration, checking social assistance, education, and so on. With a Citizen Account, citizens can access and manage various public services online more easily and efficiently.
Cepat Response Dashboard for Governor and Regions
To improve quality of public complaint handling, Jakarta Smart City has developed a Cepat Response dashboard. This dashboard allows the public and the governor to see performance in handling reports in each region and their progress. With this dashboard, the government’s response to public needs and aspirations can be faster as well as more effective.
Collaboration Platform for Handling Stunting
Jakarta Smart City has also developed a collaboration platform for handling stunting, a chronic nutritional problem in children that can hinder their growth and development. This platform connects various parties involved in handling stunting, including the government, hospitals, health institutions, and the communities, to share information, experiences, and solutions in an effort to reduce stunting in Jakarta. With this platform, collaboration between stakeholders is more coordinated and effective in overcoming the problem of stunting.
You can find this platform on the Smart City website, by selecting ‘Jakarta Bergerak’ in the header section. You will then be redirected to a landing page that contains a search for donations and information about the distribution package and location.
Above innovations are part of Jakarta Smart City’s efforts in applying technology and innovation to improve the quality of life of the people of Jakarta. Hopefully, with these initiatives and innovations, Jakarta can continue to develop into a better smart city in the future. Happy 496th birthday Jakarta.
