Lately, Smartcitizen must have felt a sudden change in the weather, right? Yep, it turns out that Indonesia has started to enter the transition to the rainy season, here. The latest BMKG analysis shows that the dynamics of the atmosphere in Indonesia are still high, thus increasing the potential for extreme weather in several areas, including Jakarta. As a Smartcitizen who often engages in outdoor activities, here are some things to watch out for and tips that can be applied in dealing with this extreme weather.

Report Inundation/Flood Using JAKI

Lapor Banjir

Regarding the weather and rain, not only memories stop by, but also puddles. The main cause of flooding or inundation is not much different, namely rainfall. Due to high rainfall, puddles can also appear if the drainage is having problems. If it lasts for a long time, then overcapacity will occur which can continue to become a flood.

Inundation and flooding need to be watched out for by Smartcitizens, because they can interfere with daily activities. Report immediately if you find puddles and floods, by opening the JAKI application. Click the JakLapor feature, then choose whether to report privately or publicly. Take a photo of the puddle or flood, then complete the information in detail. Reports will also be immediately forwarded to the relevant agencies to be handled, simple right? Come on, try it!

Keep well

The weather is extreme and often changes, especially in the midst of many activities, making the body have to adjust and the body’s immunity tends to decrease. This will cause the body to become susceptible to various diseases because the types of microbes will be easier to breed and enter the human body. The immunity that is not perfect will increasingly make bacteria and viruses grow, thus causing disease. Thus, the body must be alert to disease attacks that come during the rainy season.

Providing vitamin C as an immune booster is one of the right solutions. In addition, a healthy lifestyle is also needed, such as regular exercise so that the immune system remains balanced. Eating healthy and nutritious foods is also important, you know, especially foods rich in vitamin C and antioxidants.

If Smartcitizens feel unwell or are in a condition that requires emergency medical assistance, check the various health services at JakSehat through the JAKI application so that you can return to normal activities again.

Take a shower and wash your hair if it rains

These tips may be a little unique, but without realizing it has many benefits, you know. This is because there are pollution particles in rainwater that we cannot see. By bathing and shampooing every time you get rained on, you can get rid of infections or germs.

Get enough sleep and avoid staying up late

Sleep is one of the phases of the body to improve endurance and increase it when it comes down, especially after you have to hit the rain. Generally, adults need 7–9 hours of sleep every day. Adequate sleep can strengthen the immune system, thus avoiding various diseases. Another benefit of adequate sleep is that it can increase concentration, peace of mind, and productivity.
