Dark clouds and moderate to heavy rain have arrived in Jakarta. That means we have to start being more alert than usual to anticipate puddles and floods caused by the high intensity rain. To provide citizens with easy access to monitor the latest conditions during this extreme weather,  the Jakarta Provincial Government presents a Flood Mapping Based on Neighborhoods (Peta Banjir Berbasis RT). Flood Mapping Based on Neighborhoods is presented in response to the Governor Anies Baswedan’s direction that every flood points in Jakarta need to be informed to the smallest regional unit, that is the neighborhood (Rukun Tetangga/RT). Flood Mapping Based on Neighborhoods can be easily accessed at pantaubanjir.jakarta.go.id/peta-banjir-berbasiskan-rt

Floodgates Information in Jakarta

The water level information in the floodgates is an important element when it comes to mitigation measures. The floodgate water level status consists of four statuses: alert level 1, alert level 2, alert level 3, and normal. If the water level around the floodgate has risen above normal, it’s very likely that the area where the citizens reside will be flooded. As this information is available for the government and the citizens, both parties can carry out early mitigation before the flood arrives.

Number of Neighborhoods Affected by Floods per Administrative Cities

This section provides information on the number of neighborhoods affected by flood in five administrative cities of Jakarta.

The Collaborators Behind the Floods Map

In the midst of an increasingly intense downpour during the rainy season, there are collaborators behind the Pantau Banjir website. Together with Jakarta Smart City, these collaborators are the ones who are responsible for monitoring and reporting the latest situations for Jakarta citizens. The Jakarta Disaster Management Agency is responsible for reporting the flood data information, while Jakarta Water Resource Agency is accountable for monitoring and updating the data on floodgates across Jakarta, and the area map used in the Pantau Banjir website is managed by the Human Settlements, Spatial Planning and Land Affairs Agency of Jakarta.

The Flood Mapping Based on Neighborhoods will help you see the actual mapping of water levels in Jakarta. The information displayed is easy to read because the interface is simple and easy to understand. To stay alert during this extreme weather, alongside the Pantau Banjir website, you can also take advantage of JakLapor in JAKI to report the puddles or muds that cause inconvenience. If you experience an emergency situation, please call 112 which is also available on JakSiaga. Get JAKIfor free on the Play Storeand App Store. Stay safe, Smartcitizen!
