Dinas Cipta Karya, Tata Ruang, dan Pertanahan (the department of public works, spatial planning, and land affairs) provides dynamic, automatically updated data based on real-time conditions. This data is in accordance with the development of the conditions of Rukun Tetangga/RT (neighbourhood association), as the smallest area unit, affected by flooding. This information is available on the Pantau Banjir website under the Peta (map) menu, which also includes details on floodgates that play a crucial role in controlling water flow and preventing flooding. To check Jakarta’s flood conditions in real-time, follow these steps:

  1. Visit Pantau Banjir  website using your browser.
  2. Once the page loads, click the Peta menu and select Peta Banjir Berbasiskan RT to view flood conditions in each area of Jakarta in detail.
  3. Read the information on the RT-Based Flood Map Dashboard:
  • Jumlah RT Terdampak Banjir (number of flood-affected RT): This section displays which RT are affected by flooding out of Jakarta’s total 30,554 RT. The data is updated every three hours to ensure real-time accuracy.
  • Luas Wilayah Terdampak Banjir (flood-affected area size): Whilst the previous section lists affected RT, this part provides information on the total flooded area within Jakarta’s 661.5 km² land area.
  • Daftar RT Terdampak Banjir (list of flood-affected RT): This section offers a more detailed look at the RT impacted by flooding. Click on the list to zoom in and get a closer view of specific locations.
  • Data Pintu Air (floodgate water level data): Water levels at Jakarta’s floodgates are a key indicator in flood management. The water level status is categorized into four levels: Normal, Alert 3, Alert 2, and Alert 1. If water levels continue to rise, nearby areas are more likely to experience flooding. With this information, both the government and residents can take early mitigation steps.
