Buckle up, road warriors! Have you ever taken a journey through the streets, but the road was bumpy as if it was a rollercoaster? It must have been annoying! But, worry not. We are now at the end of the tunnel!

The answer to solve road damages is just a few clicks away. Using the Citizen Report feature on the JAKI (Jakarta Kini) superapp, Smartcitizens are able to give reports or concerns about road infrastructure. But, how? Let us unlock the mystery below.

Steps to Report About Road Damages Using Citizen Report

Citizen Report is one of the main features of JAKI. Using this feature, you are able to report any concerns happening in Jakarta, including road damages. Here are the steps how to do so:

  1. Open JAKI and find the Citizen Report feature.

  1. Select the icon in the bottom right corner if you want to create a report. Click Report Photo if you want to report in photo format and click Report Video if you want to report in video format.

You will be directed to email when using Report Video.

  1. Take a photo of your report or document it. Besides using the application’s camera, you are also able to upload from the phone's gallery. But, before capturing using the phone’s camera, make sure you have turned your GPS (Global Positioning System) on as Citizen Report is a geotagging-based feature. Then, click Next. After that, you can add more location characteristics if you want to be more specific. This will help the officers to come over.

  1. Let the story begin. Write your concerns here as clearly as possible with 50 characters at minimum. Then, click “Next”.

  1. Before submitting your report, specify the category of the report. Choose the Jalan (road) category to send reports about road damages. You are also able to find the category by typing in the search bar.

  1. You are now reviewing your report. Feel free to choose Private/Rahasia if you want to hide your report on JAKI and appear anonymously. If you want all eyes on you, click “Public”. You will still appear anonymously, but always be mindful about your private data as everyone can see your report. If everything is complete, click “Send”.

Locked and loaded! Your report is now submitted to CRM Petugas Kelurahan.

Government’s Commitment and Initiatives for Road Infrastructure

Everyone deserves to be provided with appropriate infrastructure. That is why all the task forces of DKI Jakarta are always down to fix many concerns about road infrastructure. As of March 2023, Dinas Bina Marga DKI Jakarta have fixed 21.442 potholes.

Potholes or road damages usually happen due to age, rainfall, excavation, and landslides. Permanent road improvement is impossible to do during the rainy season, so due to the urgent situation, they do a quick patching using cold mix asphalt for slight damages. For moderate and severe damages, they use hot mix asphalt and apply the concrete as it does not rain anymore.

So, there you go! Never miss the chance to report about road damages using JakLapor on JAKI. Download the application on Google Playfor Android users or on AppStorefor iOS users. Here is to loads of worry-free adventures in beloved Jakarta!
