Here's How to Register to the KJP Plus Phase I of 2021

In an effort to develop human resources that are ready and capable to compete in global competition, the Provincial Government of Jakarta continues its strive to provide fair and equitable access to education for all people in the capital.

One way to achieve this goal is through the provision of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus. The program is intended for children aged 6 to 12 years, especially those from underprivileged communities to get educational services until the completion at SMA / SMK level.

What Are The Benefits of KJP Plus?

The implementation of KJP Plus is fully funded by the Regional Budget (APBD) of the Jakarta Provincial Government. That way, KJP Plus cardholder students can start/continue learning with the following educational facilities at free of charge:

  •  Stationery and school supplies;
  •  Computers and laptops;
  •  Uniforms;
  •  Nutritional food;
  •  Glasses and hearing aids;
  •  Extracurricular activities;
  •  Books and other supporting material;
  •  Drugs that are not classified as addictive substances;
  •  Scientific calculator;
  •  Practical tools and/or materials;
  •  Electronic data storage device;
  •  Bike;
  •  Special equipment for students with special needs.

Other facilities that can also be used by KJP Plus card recipients include free access to TransJakarta, free access to enter recreational parks in the likes of Ancol, Ragunan Zoo, and museums in Jakarta. KJP Plus recipients also have the benefit to get food at a more affordable price from the government's food assistance program.

KJP Plus Offers Assistance For Vulnerable Families

The KJP Plus program was conceived as one of the ways to ease the economic burden of vulnerable families, especially those who find difficulties in providing access to education for their children. Therefore, KJP Plus will also provide monthly aid with the following amounts and details:

  • Elementary school level or equivalent will receive a total fund of Rp 250,000 and an additional fee for private school tuition fees of Rp130,000.
  • Junior high school level or equivalent will receive a total funding of Rp 300,000 and an additional fee for private school tuition of Rp170,000.
  • High school level or equivalent will receive a total fund of Rp420,000 and additional tuition fees for private schools of Rp290,000.
  • The SMK (vocational high school) level will receive a total fund of Rp 450,000 and additional private school tuition fees of Rp240,000.
  • The Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) will receive a total funding of Rp300,000.
  • The Training Course Institution (LKP) will receive a total funding of Rp1.8 million per semester.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, students who are registered in the KJP Plus program will also receive additional regular and periodic funds every month. Funds will be provided in cash or non-cash and can be used to fulfill food, health, and education needs, including for distance learning communication purposes.

KJP Plus Requirements

Students who are deemed eligible to receive a KJP Plus card must first meet the following requirements:

  1. Registered and still active in one of the education units in DKI Jakarta Province.
  2. Registered in Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), Regional DTKS, and/or other data that has been stipulated in a Governor Decree.
  3. Jakarta residents domiciled in DKI Jakarta as evidenced by a family card or other accountable certificate.

The administrative requirements for prospective KJP Plus card recipients include:

  1. Form of data completeness, which can be downloaded here
  2. KJP Plus application letter, which can be downloaded here
  3. Letter of compliance as a KJP Plus user, which can be downloaded here
  4. Photocopy of ID card.
  5. Photocopy of Family Card.
  6. Statement letter of absolute responsibility to the school (stamped), which can be downloaded here
  7. Statement of obedience to the use of social assistance for educational operational costs for students from poor families through KJP Plus, which can be downloaded here
  8. List of prospective KJP Plus recipients in 2020 (signed by the school principal knowing the Head of the District Education Implementing Unit)

Learn the Mechanism of KJP Plus Phase 1 2021

Based on data from the DKI Jakarta Education Office, the total recipients of KJP Plus Phase 2 in 2020 reached 849,291 students.Here is the mechanism of KJP Plus Phase 1 of 2021:

  1. The Education Office announces temporary data of recipient candidates from the integrated data through schools (15-22 Maret 2021).
  2. Prospective recipients complete the documents through the school (15-22 Maret 2021).
  3. Document verification of potential recipients (29-31 Maret 2021).
  4. Final recipient data is set (1-6 April 2021).
