WSIS is an annual award event from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a special agency affiliated with the United Nations (UN). How to Vote for Jakarta in WSIS Prizes 2023

Here are the initiatives representing Jakarta: 

1. JakLapor: Privacy-Preserving Online Public Complaint Application in category AL C5. Building Confidence and Security in Use of ICTs;
2. Master Data Management for Citizen 360 Profiling in category AL C7. ICT Applications: E-Science;
3. Jakarta Smart City Living Lab in the AL C9 category. Media;
4. Smart Change: Collaboration for Sustainable Urban Development in the category AL C11. International and Regional Cooperation;
5. and Jakarta Satu: One Map, One Data, One Policy in the AL C3 category. Access to Information and Knowledge.

These five innovations compete with other ICT innovations from around the world. Therefore, Jakarta needs your support in order to win the 2023 WSIS Prizes by sending them your votes. However, before voting for Jakarta, you need to know the following procedure.

1. Login or register to the WSIS Prizes site
2. Go to the voting page
3. Click Vote
4. Scroll until you find Voting Form
5. Select the desired category
6. Click Vote for This Project on the nominee you want to vote for

You can only submit support for one innovation per category. To see a list of innovations that you voted for, click My Votes on the top right of the Voting Form.

Get to know Jakarta’s Innovation at the 2023 WSIS Prizes

Before voting, you might want to get to know more about each of the innovations representing Jakarta. JakLapor, a public complaint feature that can be accessed through the JAKI application, presents an innovation that allows Jakarta citizens to report urban problems without having to fear their personal data being leaked. This is due to JAKI’s private by default system that makes private automatic reports, unless the reporter chooses a public report, as well as its private by design system that makes the reporter's personal data unable to be stored or used.

The Master Data Management (MDM) method has succeeded in assisting the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government manage data received from various Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD). After the data has been filtered and integrated, the data is used by the Pemprov DKI for various innovation purposes, such as Citizen 360 Profiling which is nominated in the WSIS Prizes 2023. Meanwhile, Jakarta Smart City, which carries the Living Lab branding, has been able to educate the public about smart cities and digital transformation through its official website, social media channels, webinars, and many other platforms. With the Jakarta Smart City Living Lab's media channel, the public can also get accurate and up-to-date information, so as to avoid hoaxes.

Smart Change is a triangular cooperation project between the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta, City Government of Berlin, and Bangkok. This project, which was funded by the European Union, contributes to enhancing integrated city development by strengthening good city governance, efficient local government administrative capacity, and encouraging the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jakarta, systemic innovation, economic resilience, and job creation. Last but not least, Jakarta Satu integrates data and systems as well as fulfills public information, data transfer needs, determining regional potential, and others within the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta.
