Why You Should Report Floods with JAKI

Floods pose a threat to Jakarta when the rainy season arrives. As a city of collaboration, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and various elements of society working together to solve and mitigate this problem. When the floods started to appear, numerous reports from the residents were received and processed by the government officials and the response became more precise and fast. Of the 436 reportsof flooding that entered the complaint channels in the period of January 1 to February 9, 99.77% are completed. This shows that reports from residents are very helpful for better handling of Jakarta's floods.

How to Report Floods in Jakarta?

Smarcitizen, If you find a flood or deep puddle near you, immediately report it through the 14 complaint channels of Citizen Relation Management (CRM), one of which is through the JAKI app. Here's how to report floods in Jakarta through JAKI:

  1. Download JAKI in Google Play Storeor Apple App Store
  2. Open JAKI
  3. Select the camera button at the bottom center with the label “Lapor”
  4. Take a photo of floods 
  5. Select the “Banjir" category
  6. Describe the details of floods
  7. Send the report
  8. Wait for the officer to handle your report

In regard to floods, JAKI has a JakLapor feature to report problems in Jakarta, including floods, and JakPantau to monitor floodgates, water pumps, observation posts, and flood reports from residents. These two features are well integrated. So, when you report a flood through JAKI, there will be various benefits that you can get compared to other complaint channels.

By reporting floods with JAKI, your report will be quickly sent to the officers along with the exact time and location, thanks to the geotagging feature. It helps officers find out the exact location in a more precise manner. You can also monitor the progress and vigilance of the officers who are designated to follow up on your report.

In the JakPantau feature on JAKI, you can select “Info Banjir” to see locations affected by flooding in Jakarta. So, if you have reported floods in JAKI, your report will appear in this feature.
